Thought Glen was excellent last night, England's best defender. Unlucky for the goal.

Just look at this from The Telegraph

    Johnson 4
Owes Walcott big time. He was played Mellberg onside for Sweden’s first and then carried the ball into his own net, capping a sloppy performance.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Johnson has carried Terry he's proven he's a world class defender this tournament. He played the man onside but it was a absolute mess how the ball got through anyway. Unlucky the ball bounced off him.. Brilliant in the first game too, plenty of last ditch tackles and nobody has beat him.

Let me guess - the same expert gave Young 9.5 for his efforts?

I think England would have lost last night but for Johnson, he was superb.

            That's probably Henry Winter's assessment.
            Are we winning?

BBC's rating on Johnson. Spot on IMO

7/10 Guy's view: England's best defender on the night. His timing of the vital "recovery tackle" has been vital in both games. Not so long ago some were saying he should be behind Kyle Walker and Micah Richards for the right-back role, and even Roy Hodgson was openly critical of him during his time as Liverpool boss. Two good performances in Ukraine so far though - more of the same please!

                Piss poor review that.

I really don't understand the grief that Johnson gets. It's lazy, bandwagon-jumping muppets who have this completely wrong view of that he can't defend.

Few better RB's out there than Johnson. Very few.

Going by recent form he deserves the RB slot. He is better than Walker and Richards.

I think he'll always have the 'dodgy defensively' tag now though.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's been mentioned for so long it has stuck now, and the press will continue to use it because it actually putting across the correct view would take effort, and your average journalist is lazy.

Having a great competition along with Gerrard, won't get the recognition though.

I thought so to, however there seems to be a polarised view on him from fans and pundits - Some are rating him at the Englands best defender and some are suggesting he's hopeless and is at fault for everything going wrong.
I make no apologies, this is me

I noticed this as well. I just cannot understand how anyone can be but impressed with is contribution so far. Even last night England started so poorly and it was not until Glen made a typical surge forward and got fouled that the team kicked into any kind of action. I wouldn't swap him for anyone right now, for club or country.
