In fairness, he's better now than he was. He was a bit dodgy at times and still is every once in a while, should have done better for the Podolski goal for example.

But it's fair to say that every player will make mistakes and defenders and keepers stand out more than others.

Fact is Glen Johnson has improved his defensive game immensely over the past couple of years. He always had it in him, just needed to be switched on for the full game, previously he had a tendency to switch off, do something sloppy, and we'd ship a goal. He was the same at Portsmouth and at Chelsea.

Now, I'll readily admit he's a fantastic and dependable fullback.

To be slightly fairer and to put it into context, Glen Johnson was bad during Hodgson's tenure. I mean really, really bad. It was the 'make sure the hair is behind the ears and then defend' period. However, it was obvious for all to see that during Rafa's time, Glen Johnson was a quality full back and had it in him to get back to the level he had shown the previous season.

Hmmmmm, kind of reminds me of another full-back on our books...
