I thought there was a stat doing the rounds that Johnson has only been fit and available for 75% (roughly) of our games since joining?Originally posted by rcasemore View PostIn his 4 full seasons with us he's played 35 games, 35 games, 29 games and 43 games respectively, that works out as 35.5 games a season as an average.
Useless bloody crock
Either way he is nailed on to leave in the summer. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I don't think he's nailed on to go but he has probably reached his peak in terms of transfer value. Trouble isbthat his next transfer will be a step down, I can't imagine he'd sign for Newcastle or Sunderland and so the only logical move for him would be back to West Ham.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostI thought there was a stat doing the rounds that Johnson has only been fit and available for 75% (roughly) of our games since joining?

I'd rather we kept him for another 3 seasons though

I think that is the main problem with either Kelly or Wisdom coming in - a more defensive fullback means more problems higher up the pitch. My feeling is that Wisdom + Henderson on that side would be a mistake, we would have to move one of the more creative attacking players that side if we lost Johnson for a run of games IMO.Originally posted by Nigey View PostIf that is true, we'll be losing one of our most important attacking assets."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Well it's well-known he's been taking Spanish lessons for ages and wants to play there at some point. He's also on massive wages - circa £100k a week. Apparently Rodgers was aghast when he arrived that a right-back would be on such huge money. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think there is a misconception with FSG and high wages. I think FSG has a problem with high earners that contribute little rather than high wages full stop. Johnson is the nailed on first choice right back and has been for years. Also look at the lack of transfer activity with regards to a right back.
