I don't think he's slowing down any time soon. Sign him up.

He's been one of our best and most consistent players for ages. Thoroughly deserves a new contract.

I'm not sure it's just offering him a new contract though, plenty of rumours he fancies playing abroad so he might not sign it if we do offer one.

We should certainly offer though, makes a huge difference to our play.

I think a lot depends on how we do this season. I think with CL football he'd definitely extend his contract, without he might well look at other options.

I guess CL football might make a difference to the club as well with regards offering him a new contract, the money from the CL will certainly make a difference on what we'll be willing to spend on transfers & wages.

              Certainly.

I think if we miss out next season will by necessity be another 'transition season'.

We look far worse without him at present. Either Kelly would need to get back to his best and improve, or we would need to sign a fantastic player to replace him. I think Glen is worth his wages at present as without him we'd be coming much lower in the league.

That said, he's always had a few niggles and that's unlikely to get any better as age creeps in. I wouldn't want to offer him a big contract on his present wage.

It would hurt a lot if we need another "transition" season as he'd not be the only one likely to not stay

Liverpool and England defender Glen Johnson could be banned from driving. He was found guilty in his absence at Llandudno magistrates court, of failing to tell police in North Wales of the identity of a driver of his Audi between May 8 and June 7. He had denied the offence.

I think I've mentioned this before. Johnson is married to a hair dresser from Old Colwyn's niece so that would possibly explain why he was in Colwyn Bay.

I used to go for a trim there quite regularly and he has loads of photos of him with Glen including one of when they did route 66 together. Not that any of this matters in the grand scheme of things but he could be in **** now.

Glen Johnson The player, who was not in court, already has six points on his licence

A Liverpool and England footballer could be banned from driving for failing to tell police who was at the wheel of his car.

Magistrates heard that a police officer using a speed gun saw Glen Johnson's Audi car on the A55 at Colwyn Bay, Conwy, earlier this year.

A notice was sent out but no response received. He denied the offence.

The player, who was not at Llandudno Magistrates' Court, already has six points on his licence.

Sentencing was adjourned but the offence carries six penalty points.

His solicitor said he could not be in court on Friday because of club commitments.

He added that his client was "in the custody" of his club before an "important" match at Hull City.

The lawyer said Johnson was in a "catch-22 situation", because if he had been in court he would have been disciplined by the club.

However, the prosecution said the match date would have been known before the court fixture.

The court heard Johnson's defence was that the form to identify the driver of the car had been completed and sent back, but had been misplaced.

Refusing the adjournment, the magistrates' chairwoman said Johnson would have known his football fixtures when the trial was fixed in October and had ample opportunity to bring this to the court's attention.

The prosecution said a police constable had been using a laser speed-measuring device in a 50mph zone on the A55 dual carriageway at Colwyn Bay on 18 February when he saw the Audi in question.

A notice was sent to Johnson as the registered keeper but no response was received, the court heard.

He was found guilty of not providing the information and it was revealed he already has six points on his licence.

Before evidence was heard his solicitor had indicated he would appeal against any conviction.

Real Madrid are among clubs keeping a keen eye on Glen Johnson's contract negotiations at Liverpool. The England full-back is on a lucrative deal in excess of £100,000 a week but his contract runs out in 2015 and an agreement on new terms has yet to be reached. Liverpool want Johnson to stay but are reluctant to hand out any more big contracts.
They may look at offering 29-year-old Johnson a longer deal but on slightly reduced terms yet that may not suit one of the best right-backs in Europe.
Arsenal are on the look out for a right-back with Bacary Sagna's contract terms also yet to be resolved but Johnson would also be beyond their pay structure.

He isnt one of the best right-backs in Europe and he certainly is not worth the 100k plus wages he is on

Good fullbacks are hard to find it seems.

Simon Jones never gets a story right. But did hear we were trying to reduce his wages

Too inconsistent for me and slack defensively
