I think Glen will excel under Rodgers, especially if we play with wing-backs, he's perfect for that role.

And funily enough, Enrique/Downing on the left.

englands MOTM. kept zlat in his pocket. never gets beaten for pace chasing back.
on one wing, with asley cole out of position, john terry looked like he was running through custard to try and catch zlat. on the other wing Glen beats him, takes the ball off him, and then smacks the back of his legs and says dont even try that again.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He was outstanding tonight. I am pretty sure if he had another 20 games like that for England, Commentators would still mention his defensive weaknesses.

He has been far and away Englands best DEFENDER this tournament

Johnson has been excellent for us as well this season. He's added consistency to his game.
                Are we winning?

Yeah, although he did play Mellberg onside for the first goal.
                  .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Their first goal was a crap freekick followed by a miscued scissor kick. Ashley Young then went roaming, leaving Mellberg open and Johnson on the right played him onside.

The second goal was just **** defending.

Yes but it wouldn't have been a goal at all if Johnson hadn't been so deep, even if he had been able to get back in time to cover the line and deflect it in like he did.

So now my previous unquoted post in response to Rudedog's original post makes it look like I'm posting in bewilderment.

EDIT: Rudedog, not Rudo ... soz!

And calling him Rudo allows me to live up to my username. Win, win.

                              A natural enigma

Unfortunately for Johnson (England's best defender so far) & Cole who has been decent as well, Terry & Lescott will let the team down as they are not good enough imo to be the starting cb's for Ingerlund...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!
