He wasn't where he should be ie at right back. Too far upfield.
Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

I'm pretty sure he wasn't. He was on his man in the box, behind the ball. Pasquale was Downing's man. Might have to see a replay to confirm, but if you're pointing fingers it's at Downing.

Don't really wanna make excuses for Glen but being shifted from one side to the other all the time can't help.

Not at his best tonight at all.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

he was covering in the middle of the box because both center backs went to di natale.

We are chopping and changing our backline way too much

If we can get their first goal up on here later, I thought Downing should have gone with the runner. Would be interesting to see that again.

Downing was definitely asleep for the third goal, didn't track Pasquale. Thought Johnson wasn't great for first one.

its always going to be struggle for glen or anyone else to play as a wing back. you bomb forward, then possession is lost. the ball is quickly played out and you are caught out of position.

its all fine and dandy when the wing back/full back does something funky up the other end but its only a matter of time before you are going to criticise them for being in the wrong place.
you will always be vulnerable to the fast counter attack playing this system.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Watch Downing. Personally, I think he should have spotted the danger and covered for Glen by going with the runner.

Might have something to do with it. His casual start to the second half really cost us dear. Was the turning point as Udinese unnecessarily got their tails up from then on.

I'm glad Brendan roasted him and the others (indirectly) in the post-match. Hopefully will have the desired effect going forwards.

Yep, lazy ******* just couldn't be arsed tracking the runner. Johnson obviously ****ed up too though by giving the ball away so cheaply. Allen was also at fault there as he didn't beat Di Natale to the ball, or put enough pressure on him to make him miss.

We just got caught cold really at the start of the half, which is disappointing.

yup and didn't track Pasquale for the third either.

He takes no responsibility defensively or in attack. He is infuriating to watch.

Has anyone watched Brendan's post match interview on ITV? The interviewer asked him what did he think of Stewart's Downing performance and Rodgers dodged talking about him entirely. He said:

"Stew worked hard yeah", scratched his ear and then focused the rest of his answer on the "team".
                              Are we winning?

Yup and people are going on about his improved performance, but yet he was at fault for two of the goals conceded! I genuinely can't stand the guy.
