Has anyone watched Brendan's post match interview on ITV? The interviewer asked him what did he think of Stewart's Downing performance and Rodgers dodged talking about him entirely. He said:

"Stew worked hard yeah", scratched his ear and then focused the rest of his answer on the "team".

with any luck Cole & Downing will be out the door and distant memories come January.

Interviewer asked Brendan "Downing answered your call to war tonight" and Breno just replied "yes steward worked very hard, in fact the whole team worked very hard. But again, moments of lazy, sloppy play meant...blah, blah". Haha, B.L.A.N.K.

This was the best Downing has ever played for us, and the most courageous. And he was still meh.

Downing isn't Brendan's kind of player. One good game doesn't change the fact he has been our worst player last season and most of this season.

Definitely up there with the best and he's been brilliant since the day he signed. We're a much better team with him in and I hope soon he can go back to RB.

Been getting England / Hart out of trouble in the last few England games as well. He seems to have joined us at the just the right time / age.

Jenkinson has improved dramatically for sure, but there is no comparison between him and Johnson. For me Johnson & Zabaleta are the best RB's in the premier league.

To be fair though there is actually a shortage of top quality RB's around the world and i reckon both Johnson and Zabaleta are up there with the best at this moment in time.

He is almost as comfortable this season as LB as he is in his natural position as RB.

Very consistent going forward as well as defensively.

I've always liked Johnson, I think he's quality. Shame he's one those players that never really get credit they truely deserve.
