Davies was on the radio earlier saying that he falls short of ten years service by a week or so and that the club won't be giving him a testimonial.

Now I know they're completely within their rights not to do so (and not to offer him a new contract), but given how so much money gets given to charity from the back of testimonials and the service he's given them I think they're being a touch harsh.

        Yeah I heard that.

No issue with not extending his contract but not giving him a testimonial is ****ing **** and smacks of Phil Gartside being a cunt.

He runs his own charity so the money would have probably gone to that.

          Exactly. Agree with both points.

I agree with all three points.

How do they define most creative? I'm sure I read recently that only one of Baines crosses had directly led to a goal or something.

I would guess it is goalscoring chances made.

If that is the case it just highlights how **** Jelavic and Anichebe have been at converting them.

I assume its most chances created for another player to shoot. Other than that no clue, its so vague.

I can't explain my reasoning, but when I look at the 'top assists', I always think it's a rather wank return.

I assume that's from open play, because he definitily has a few assists from crosses that obviously include set-pieces?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Cameron pushing for Celtic and Rangers to move south

Prime Minister David Cameron will reportedly back Rangers and Celtic joining the English football league in an attempt to win the Scottish referendum on independence.
                            Eurosport – 8 hours ago

The Sunday People claims that the British PM is taking a "massive interest" in the potential move south of the border for the Glasgow giants.

"Two major powerbrokers *involved in the process confirmed that *meetings have taken place recently with Cameron and other leading figures," the paper reports.

"And the Prime Minister’s team are planning to pull strings to make the move happen sooner rather than later."

A "prominent figure, who wishes to remain anonymous" claims that the two clubs have "never had a better chance" to earn a money-spinning move to England.

Cameron is apparently trying to persuade the FA and the Football League to allow Celtic and Rangers to jump straight into the Championship, thus avoiding the potential logistical nightmare of lower league sides seeing their often tiny grounds inundated with tens of thousands of Rangers and Celtic fans heading to away matches.

In addition, Cameron apparently wants to force a deal through before the Scottish independence vote in September 2014 - since he believes that it could be a key factor in stopping Scotland breaking away from the United Kingdom.

"Rangers fans are squarely behind the unionist cause and will always wave the flag. But if Celtic were to be playing in England it might prove to their fans that they should be British," the paper's source says.

"This may sound strange to people in England but there are hundreds of thousands of votes here – and football is at the middle of a lot of debates up here."

I guess Rangers fans might be keen on playing in the Championship given their current situation
