To be fair, Messi's disallowed goal at the Emirates was never offside.

Large dose of wishful thinking here but I think Ferguson's time may well be up soon. There's kind of a perfect storm gathering. He's not getting any younger for a start. Remember the great Brian Clough in his latter years? Opposition is emerging from LFC and City aswell as CFC and Arsenal. The Glazers loans are due for refinancing in a year or so and I don't think they've got the big money to throw around these days. Lastly their squad needs overhauling to some extent and he's set to lose Van der Sar, Giggs, Berbatov and Scholes. Sure, he's been a fantastic manager and he's rebuilt sides before and proved us all wrong in the process but there's a limit to how long his magic can be sustained. Next season could be very interesting.

Don't blame him for shaking. The best manager we're ever likely ever likely to see in our lifetime. A sore loser and a cunt in defeat but he's top class is Fergie.

    The. Benchmark.

no doubt the same classy individual that seemed to rejoice in Fergie getting attacked at a train station by a lowlife scumbag will disagree but anyway.

Barca were brilliant last night but there is no way that a Liverpool team under Benitez would’ve been humiliated in the same way that Utd were under Fergie. Fact.

A banner saying "MUFC 19" has been unfurled at Old Trafford, as a tribute to the number of times Manchester United touched the ball in the Champions League final...

Nicked from TLW and couldn't have put it better myself.

Must be a head**** to be Ferguson in that situation though when you think about it. Getting your own way all the time, watching sides let you roll them over week after week, ref decisions going your way, an entire press pack that's terrified of you, rival managers who follow your every fart like they've got Stokholm Syndrome, and on top of that you're on home soil.

But then you have to sit there and be subjected to an abject humiliation like that.

It's like being king of the Aztecs and having everyone bow down to you for years because you wear a scary mask and can hop higher than the rest of the tribe, then one day the Spanish turn up in a sailing ship, blow your temple up with cannons and kill your kids with smallpox. All this time you thought you were the king, but then you realise all you are is a man in a stupid mask.
