To be completely fair, his best years were already far behind him when he left us. Injury made sure of that. Had he stayed, his decline would have continued with us.

To my Mum who has always taken the brunt of my frustrations yet continues to keep our family so tight-knit, a trait that has formed the foundations of my own success. Her dedication to me and my brothers and sisters is immeasurable. I'd like to thank Terry, Andy, Karen and Lesley for being so understanding and creating the perfect environment to grow up in. Last but not least, my Dad. We did it my old mate! From those freezing local parks to terrorising the best defenders in the World on the biggest stages of all. I couldn't have done it without you".

I quite like him as a pundit. He might be a bit boring, but he certainly has more about him than Alan Shearer, Lee Dixon, Gareth Southgate and Lawro.

He was a fantastic player for us.

Those two goals he scored in the FA Cup final won me a lot of money when i was a skint student.

I dare say that if you were to ply him with drink he'd quite happily admit that the biggest mistake he made in his career was leaving us.
