He doesn't even register with me as an ex lfc player anymore, when i think of MO, it's in a UTD or England kit that i see him, and you know what, i think if he was honest he'd say joining utd was one of his greatest achievments, and maybe even his proudest moment was having Fergie sign him.

Dont like him but he's a big part of our history. Nice touch with the nod to his old fella. I'd be made up if my lad wrote that to me.

Very debatable. Yes he is part of our history but not a big part IMO.

            Nice wasn't it.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He won us an FA cup. Without him that would have been a horrible boring 1-0 defeat. You have to give him credit there.
              *Except Michael, who died.

That statement is about as manufactured as it could possibly be (bar the last paragraph), and no doubt I'll get slaughtered for it, but since leaving us, he's acted like Billy Big Bollocks. His football has deteriorated, and that is such a shame. Made a number of wrong choices and now his career is as it is.

A career that started like the Big Bang ultimately fizzled out into a damp paper towel.
                +1.

Of course, he was amazing for us. Just don't think he is a 'big' part of our history, but like I said it is debatable and I am sure many would disagree with me.

Henchoz had a hand in that iirc.

His full debut or the sub appearance (and goal) at the end of the previous season?

The sub appearance when he scored from a Danny Murphy (also debut) through ball IIRC.

He was brilliant for us, I'm not sure if he regrets anything but he should regret joining Newcastle instead of signing back for us when Rafa said he'd have him back for the same money as we sold him for.

Crapped himself about losing his England place by being a sub for Madrid (bonkers, Sven would never have dropped him) that was THE move that ****ed up his career.

Always gave the impression he was only interested in being England's greatest ever goalscorer.

It's a shame, Houllier treated him appallingly when coming back from injuries
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Danny Murphy didn't join until the close season after that game. He made his debut in the 1-1 draw on opening day. I think, I was drunk a lot then.

I know I'm only 30 but it's making me feel old seeing players like Owen and Carra retire.

I vividly remember Owen's debut, I was 15 and it doesn't seem like THAT long ago!
