    Don't write him off yet.

We might even sign him as a backup at this rate...

Surely it'll be Everton. The graveyard for all over-the-hill United players.

I don't think Everton can afford his wages.

The next option is Steve Bruce who is obviously Ferguson's next 'palm-off-for-ridiculous-amounts-of-cash-and-line-his-sons-pockets' point of call, but Owen's delusions of grandeur means he won't drop down a league.

I hope he has to retire from football.

I was only able to play without being compromised from 17 to 19. Huge sense of 'what if' but unfortunately my mind could but my body

couldn't cope with the demands of so much so young. Despite that, still think I've got enough in me to perform for another couple of years!

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If Michael Owen was not a footballer he'd have social services knocking on the door.

Michael Owen says he is still waiting for a "good opportunity" ahead of the new season, but has again said he will not drop down to the Championship.

Ex-England striker Owen, 32, insisted in May he would not retire despite being released by Manchester United after three seasons at Old Trafford.

"If a good opportunity doesn't come my way then so be it," tweeted Owen.

"I know I can still bang them in at the top level. I proved that nearly every time I played for Manchester United."

                              Really, Michael?
