He should have replied in a polite and courteous manner, regardless of provocation. Just like many on here obviously would, unless of course you used the wrong smiley when replying to them, which of course would deserve full on abuse.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Bad smiley etiquette is something that could bring down a nation.
I dunno though, I have some sympathy for Owen, or anyone using social media I guess. He must log on and see abuse all hours of the day. The time he responds he is called a prick for it. Just think he needs some slack. Owen is a nice boring footballer who has made some bad career choices. One thing I wouldn't call him is Nasty.*Except Michael, who died.

Kitchen, fire, stay out of springs to mind. He has earned Zillions from football and he chooses to go on twitter, he chooses to communicate with morons who try to wind him up. He either needs to learn how to respond or ignore the abuse. Zero sympathy from me.Originally posted by Alex View PostBad smiley etiquette is something that could bring down a nation.

He has always been an arrogant snidey cunt face. It's why fat Nev had to put him in his place when he celebrated like a gangrenous penis face when he scored against the kid on that soccer skils video.
He always responds in the same way - as if he is having a pop at someone because they haven't achieved anything with their life dimply because he doesn't know who they are.
He needs to learn to deal with abuse better or better still not provoke it with stupidly self important arrogant bull**** about still being able to cut it at the highest level and being too good for the Championship.Football without Origi is nothing

Really? Come on, what about '98? I think he did. For a moment anyway.Originally posted by paulg View PostShake the World? He didn't even Shake the Kop.
Ok, it was more of a streak of light than any lasting impact but it's still more than many of us have achieved or will achieve, including the guy baiting him on Twitter. That's not say he's any more worthy than anyone else (including the ex-soldier) but give him his due..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

FLMAO. Appear on the pitch??? Not very likely though is it?"Just signed autographs for about 40 Newcastle fans outside our hotel. Not one single bad word spoken towards me.
"I reckon they will be the exact same people who will be booing the life out of me should I appear on the pitch today!!!"
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Michael Owen could be forced into retirement at the age of just 33 after Stoke City decided not to offer him a new deal, according to the Daily Mail.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostFLMAO. Appear on the pitch??? Not very likely though is it?
The decision was made on Thursday at a meeting between Stoke officials who began planning for next season, the newspaper claims.
The one-time golden boy of English football has failed to start a game in the Premier League for Stoke, scoring just a solitary goal all season.
Owen has always denied he would drop down to the Championship to prolong his playing days, meaning the former Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle and Manchester United man’s celebrated career could be coming to its end.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."
