The thing is, if someone does come in for Tiote and they need a replacement striker we need to play hardball and hold out till they have to pay a wedge at the last minute - just as they took up for more than he was worth because they knew we worth desperate
Thing is, if he is on £80k a week and we turn down £12m wanting £20m we can keep him for 12 months and only need to get £16m to be no worse off.
We can keep him till Jan and need a little less than £14m to make it work holding out for more. Makes no sense to get shut right away. Much better to keep him as a back up option than to throw away for peanuts.

That assumes that his value will increase in that time, I see no reason why anyone will pay more in January for him. It is more likely imo that we won't get better offers after this window and that he doesn't offer enough to us as a team.
maybe he should wave his rights to any contractual rights to go to his preferred choice
they clearly don't value him enough to pay the going rate for an international striker so its him wanting to go there. fair enough, let us make the deal happen by waving any payoff
****ing hell, the pricks offered us £20 mill only a few weeks back, how come it's suddenly gone down to £12 mill?
