    Of course, my bad.

Didn't they offer us near that amount or have they not actually made us an offer yet?

I think they made a loan offer, but that is it.

I think it is low but it's not like we have plenty of interest in him.

Speculations are Spurs and Villa are sniffing but I cannot see him going to either club.

We badly need money but we cannot wait until the last day of the transfer window to make that decision.

Either we sell him to NUFC right away for 12-15m or we keep him for now.

We cannot take a chance and let him go on the final day without finding the suitable replacement.

Remember what happened the last time we did that..

Yep, it's low........but he's only worth what someone's willing to pay, and we've made our position about his future with us abundantly clear.

I'll be a bit miffed if Andy Carroll goes back to Newcastle, no matter the fee. It just feels like once he leaves, he'll be scoring goals left and right. Obviously no way of telling but that just seems like the most probable outcome given our luck

He's just a big lump. I don't think he'll become a great striker. He's probably worth more to us right now than any figure which is sensibly going to be offered for him. He's a bit like Ryan Babel for me, I don't dislike Andy Carroll - I just don't think he has the ability to perform at the level required to take us forward.

they are going public with 12m, just so the ball is in their court. if they settle by the end of the window i would guess they will end up dealing for 15-16m.
this might suit us providing we are not paying anything much off carroll's outstanding contract.

its a shame that the only thing outstanding about this has been the size of the **** up signing him, and the size of the **** up trying to get shut

Goat**** as someone said on here somewhere at sometime..

Keep him on the bench for plan C, I think too much is being made of not having any cash sell to buy etc, they doth protest too far me thinks...

ANDY CARROLL COULD BE LEFT ON THE BENCH FOR ANOTHER SEASON AS LIVERPOOL REFUSE TO BUDGE

                      By Rupert Winter for express.co.uk

LIVERPOOL have reportedly insisted that they would rather hold onto Andy Carroll for another season than face the prospect of losing him on the cheap before the transfer deadline.

Despite the 6ft 3in England ace not featuring in boss Brendan Rodgers’ first-choice plans this season, the club have said they will not compromise on the player's price – meaning the striker is facing the prospect of another campaign warming the bench.

Carroll has already turned down bids to join West Ham United, Aston Villa and Fulham, even though the Hammers were ready to up his wages to £90,000-a-week.

Carroll's former club Newcastle are keen to end his Liverpool nightmare, but the club are not willing to match the £20 million asking price set by Liverpool.

Magpies’ manager Alan Pardew feels that Carroll’s price will depreciate as the transfer deadline moves closer, knowing Rodgers’ desperation to sell the player and use the funds received to sign some of his own targets.

However, Rodgers has announced he will not let Carroll go if a serious offer arrives too late for him to bring in a serious replacement.

It is no secret that new Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants Carroll off his books only 18 months after the striker signed for the side, but has failed in his bid to sell the player upto now, with Carroll unwilling to go to a club which doesn’t play in Europe regularly.

Rodgers is set to have talks with Carroll to explain the situation to the striker, and will inform the England international that he might have to join a lesser club who are ready to match Liverpool’s fee, or spend a lot of time in the coming season warming the bench at the Merseyside outfit.

Yeah, Newcastle do that a lot! Don't they!

If the offer is £12m he's probably worth keeping, we're unlikely to get a better replacement with that money

I'd sell to anyone other than Newcastle. Cunts can **** off.

You get this a lot in papers. It implies that clubs (not just ours) speak to newspapers before they speak to their employees.

Is it just a journalistic (I use the word loosely) figure of speech, or does this actually happen?
                              Oh I don't know.

It means the unsettled Geordie ace is set for showdown talks with new Anfield supremo Rodgers and will issue a come and get me plea to his former Toon employers.
