even if he stayed, He would never live upto his potential anyway imho. He won't get enough gametime, but if he is sold I hope we put a sell on clause in his contract as I think his stock will only rise.

Why? Sturridge was £12m, Coutinho £8.5m, Sterling less. Obviously Sterling took a few years to come through, but Maybe Ibe, Tex, Dunn etc, could do the same next year. Also that £10m could go a long way to getting a first team player like Konoplyanka, which in turn would give us a stronger bench if any of the above are dropped for a game.Originally posted by Trippendicular View PostWe won't be able to buy a better replacement who's happy to sit on the bench for that amount. Bird in the hand and all that.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

If he is willing to stay and be the 3rd option coming from the bench I'd keep him for one more year.Originally posted by RedReet View PostHe's still scored less league goals than Skrtel and one of them was from the spot. If we get a decent bid, I'd cash in.
If that is not the case and he is unwilling to settle for much smaller role that he is enjoying atm at Sunderland I'd sell him not loan him.
We need money to find a replacement as I am not sure that Aspas will also stay.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Assume Borini wasn't a Liverpool player for a moment. Now say both Borini and Ings were available for around the £6-8m mark. Who would you go for? Either? Neither?
I think I'd pass on both. Obviously as Borini is already a Liverpool player it changes things. I'm just saying if he was available now, I wouldn't really want us to sign him.

Spot on. I don't see anybody better wanting to come to us knowing they'll be on the bench or be asked to play out wide.
I'd rather have him here for another 12 months and if if after 6 he's unhappy and/or not being used, then possibly loan him out until the end of the year with a clause that we can recall him if we get an injury. Then sell at the end of the season.

ings also plays from the left wing too. options.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI think Ings is worth a punt. He's quite mobile, fast and strong and seems to finish rather well. I don't know much about his tactical discipline or technical ability (finishing aside).
it wasnt that long ago that many didnt fancy sturridge, even before we had seen some of his dodgy outfits.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

That's be Cleverley or Well**** in my experience.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostNo way. Brings absolutely nothing to the table in terms of getting involved in the play.
Along with Valencia he's their most hated player among the match-going fans I speak to.
There defo a few of them they hate right now though.
3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I dunno. The way I see it, a striker should sit into one of three catagories:
1. Fox in a box who get on the end of through balls and crosses (Rush Fowler)
2. A link player who sets up other player (Litmenan Beardsley, Dalglish)
3. A pacey or tricky player who is dangerous in possession (Suarez, Torres, Ciise)
If they don't fit into one of those catagories in some way, then they don't belong at Liverpool, in my opinion. For me, Borini does not fit into any of these. He may work hard but that does nothing for me. He has no real skill in possession, and is not a link player. He may have pace, but when he gets into a good position, his finishing has not proved to be particularly good.
Neither do I think he has the qualities to play in one of the wider positions. With the likes of Sterling, Suso coming back, and hopefully Konoplyanka, Borini would be well down the list for those positions
I don't think he has a real future here, and while I don't think we need to be in a hurry to sell either, as we can play without one of Suarez or Sturridge, and still be dangerous. We lose both and I don't think Borini can step up. I think if someone comes along who can has pace and an eye for goal and is happy to sit on the bench, then we should sell Borini. Otherwise we should keep him and hope he can prove me wrong. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
