They have forgotten he core purpose of a penalty.
Penalties: If VAR just said that as a blanket rule they would not be giving pens where there was barely any evidence of any contact. And also that they know players and coaches might not like it, but until players stop diving and going down under minimal contact they would just have to get on with it.
Offside: If it looks level, it is onside. When viewed on screen with the lines, then so long as the majority of the player is inline with the defender then it is onside. Minor appendages and limbs seeming to be offside when the core of the body is 'on' will be ignored.
Late offside flag: Get that binned.
