I'd like us to keep him, but I dont know if he has much of a long term future esp with the injuries. If he was fully fit then yup a contract extension would be worth it. I dont know if he would take a pay as you play type deal?

I like Harry Kewell. He is a very good player.

We are a better team when he is playing. He's only what? 28 yrs old? Thats not over the hill. He's got years ahead of him. We just need to get him back to 100% intelligently, and not rush the process.

I wonder why people get so angry with him. It's like it's personal. Like he planned to come to liverpool get/fake injury and live it up on his "massive" wages. Who the **** would seriously do that?

Get real. He's a quality professional football player. And he wants to play.

He'll get his chance to prove himself to Benitez again.

And I for one hope he comes back smokin'!

The lad's never lived up to his potential. A couple of Leeds fans I work with warned me about this before he joined. They said he'll only start to play once he gets into the last year of his contract or there's a semi or final to play for. I'd rather we gave Gonzales more of a run - he needs games. Kewell's never been the player he appeared to be for Leeds in an LFC shirt (half of one season he was decent - and that's it). Sorry - no passengers and that includes the likes of Fowler.

I agree with your points that he hasn't lived up to his potential and Gonzalez should be given a run in the side.

I can't believe that people think that LFC should be even considering giving him a contract extension. He's only played 120 games for us since signing (scoring 15 odd goals). If you take his 5 year contract worth £60k a week plus his £5m fee is adds up to over £20m. How anybody could say that this is money well spent is beyond me.

Can't wait for Harry Kewell to come back, he's an exciting and unpredictable (although not always the good unpredictable) player, and he's a proper winger. Not like what we've had before or even now to a certain extent. He's a proper winger who can cut inside, stick outside, beat a man, get to the by line, he's got a cracking shot on him, can take a good free kick, he's good on the corners. he's basically the complete package you want from a winger, but only when he's fit.

If he gets himself going this season and stays injury free through till the start of next season, and then he gets a decent pre-season behind him, I've got no doubt he can be one of our best players next season.

I'd keep him as long as he stays injury free.

Our only proper winger. Although hopefully Gonzalez will be good given time.

He'll have to regain a lot of his pace to play as a winger. I can see him playing more up front like Garcia does.

His renewal of a Contract depends on the next 6 months. If he can show the form he did last season, I can see him being offered an extension, but at a wage cut. His current wages were inflated to compensate for his low Transfer fee from Leeds

I like him played just off the front man, but I think we need him out wide far too much to be doing that at the moment. In the future though I could definitely see that being the case if he gets a new contract.

Of course we could just pretend he's some Polish and just pay him £2.50 an hour.
