Carra was our best player today. He was absolutely magnificent out there and Marshalled our defense like nobody. Think it was his best game this season.

We needed a strong defense today, and we got it. Great win.

I didn't feel there were that many good individual performances at all tbh

Reina 7 just about. Flapped horribly once today but otherwise sound handling and distribution.

Finnan 8 Defensively very solid, covered for the CBs superbly as we've come to expect, and crossed far better than Pennant was able to later in the game.

Carra 8 Some quality old fashioned defending, always getting something in the way, always doing enough to put players off etc. Sneaks MoM for me.

Agger 7 Passing not as good as

Riise 6 Struggling a bit with his form.

Garcia 6 Just falls short of a 7. He'll probably look great on MOTD but he gave the ball away so much today, and was defensively frail. Nice goal, but it was too easy for him to score as a individual to affect his rating for me.

SG 7 Subdued for most of the game. Not sure whether it is the way Rafa is instructing him or the way he is just deciding to play but he should be taking people on with the ball at his feet more often. A number of times he had the space for it but chose to pass, sadly usually to someone not even half as good. Came to life towards the end of the game when we really needed him to though, and went some way to making the goal.

Xabi 7 Composed as usual on the ball and found his man regularly as always, but didn't get back in position quickly enough when we lost the ball IMO.

Aurelio 6 Took a nice corner, worked hard but didn't produce much.

Bellers 7 More tireless running, we suffered his absence as Spurs pushed up. We need another pacy forward, Bellamy can't play every game.

Kuyt 6 Moved well but I think his confidence has dropped just a touch and it showed when he got the ball in good areas.

Pennant 5 Lightweight, poor delivery and sloppy passing.

Crouch 6 Didn't keep the ball for us as well as he usually does. There was one point where he could've had a shot but tried to walk it through the defence. Even Ronaldinho would've just had a shot. Came on as we were starting to struggle and sink deeper so didn't get much support, making him somewhat impotent.

Gonzalez 5 Didn't pin the opposition back as we would have liked to but put in the defensive work and hardly had time to make much of an impact.

som eof his first touches were class(the one were someone hoofed upfield and he killed it with hid 1st touch)
not sure how much more he could have done tbh

I dont think it matters what you say, Garcia could score 7 goals and have 5 assists in one game and people will still parrot on how he gives the ball away. Noone gives the ball away but Garcia. I'm sure if people bothered to write up stats for each game, Garcia would probably have less missed passes then others. Its just focused hate really. Brilliant player and we dont deserve him with fans like these.

Don't paint me as one of those thanks, you presumptious ****, trying to play the superfan. It's my opinion of ONE of his performances. 6 'just falls short of a 7' is what I said, it's hardly slating the guy as a player - why not just debate things without resorting to cuntery? :whatever:

I know he got the goal and I agree ronan & Morph, he did show superb first touch a few times, but there were also a few times where he had a real chance to produce and over-elaborated, losing the ball. Basically his general play just frustrated me a bit at times which is why I didn't rate him a 7.

Sorry but I'm not having anyone imply I'm not much of a fan just because I rated Garcia 6, just short of a 7 in ONE GAME. Go and find other posts of mine about Luis. I often heaped praise on him, I think he should be a definite starter and I always support him to the fullest at the match. If you feel you have to play the role of the superfan then fine - at least be consistant. You said Gerrard was 'dead weight' even suggesting it might be a good idea to let him go, I said Garcia will look great on MOTD but he was frustrating at times to so I wouldn't be rating him seven.
