...a tough team away that the partnership Alonso-Gerrard really worked.

It seems that they now are starting to understand each other on the pitch. I wonder if Rafa will break up that duo when Momo is fit again or if Alonso-Gerrard now will be his first choice in the middle.

I would keep Alonso and Gerrard in the middle.

We were overrun for much of the second half yesterday against a central midfield pairing of Huddlestone and Murphy and I was crying out for Gerrard to get a grip of the game.

I think the work ethic was very high though yesterday so I'm not going to fault either player.

I don't disagree with the thinking behind the post either.

I thought they did well yesterday and Alonso played paricularly well in the holding role. It was also nice to see Stevie getting stuck in with a few tackles near then end. When Momo returns I suspect that he'll play almost straight away because he is a really imortant player for us.
