and i think anyone who can't get a game ahead of evra should have a loko at themselves. and JAR is more of a goal threat

and heinze is a filthy manc

yes, he's a dirty fecker, but a bloody good defender, offers a lot going forward, though JAR does score more than him.

Disagree. JAR a goal threat, ok, what else then?
Defending is supposed to be his main contribution.
Sadly, it is not his best asset.

Heinze might be a manc, but what were you saying about Bellers before we got him?

nothing as he didn't play for any of our major rivals!

i agree that heinze is marginally a better defender than JAR, but as a unit our back 4 is pretty solid as it is.

put it this way, i never think about how i i wish we could be even stingier at the back. i tend to hope that we can get more attacking options into the team- and JAR overlapping on the left is a great option.

its interesting that evra (who is more similar to JAR than heinze) gets picked ahead of him in uniteds team- with utd top of the league it would appear that fergie has got a winning formula (but might struggle with a few key injuries)

JAR'd get into most sides for my money other than chelsea's as cole is a fantastic player (but even then JAR scores more)

the pros far outweigh the cons imo

evra and vidic are the two defensive players in the premiership this season who have shown the most improvement and are a large part of the reason the scum are where they are. heize is class - aggressive, tenacious, covers massive ground and if we could get him i'd say he'd be a rafa type player and despite the obvious respect rafa has for our traditions, not buying class players because they're from scum wouldn't bother him in the least an rightly so. all that said we won't buy him or rather they wouldn't sell him to us.

Heinze has been awful this season, looks a totally different player after the injury

think heinze is a good defender and can offer cover at centre back also, though utd will never sell him to us!

Never saw what the fuss was with this bloke. Doesn't do anything outstanding and when he gets beaten he simply fouls the man and adopts an annoying stupid grin while appealing to the referee - hugely over-rated. The fact that he can't even get Evra out of the team says it all.

The fact that he can't get Evra, who has been in great form, out of the team means nothing. Especially considering the fact that he's been dogged by injuries this season.

I think that post "says it all" about your knowledge of the player.

Heinze is class. Sign him up Rafa.... oh, he is a manc.
Well, forget it then...Slur Alex will say no.

I kind of agree with this but feel that a large part of it is down to the fact he hasn't had enough games to get back up to speed. I think he is a really excellent player.

In some ways I would love us to sign him, however ignoring the fact that Fergie would never sell him to us I think there is a good case to be made that the most successful teams in recent years have had fullbacks who are more like midfielders than real defenders. Heinze is decent on the ball and does offer a bit going forward but in the long run if we are to replace Riise (who for all his faults does work well in our system) then it will be with a more dynamic, ball playing fullback.

Think his contract is up strangely enough in the summer. slur Alex wouldnt be able to say no. But you would wonder why he is leaving United, the fact that he is leaving would suggest that he may not wat to stay in England.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
