Arsenal have a better record against us over the 2 1/2 seasons Rafa has been in charge. We are inferior. The natural order is Chelsea, Maure, Arse, Liverpool. Until we actually mix it regularly with the other 3 we'll continue to be inferior.
So can you explain to me why Arsenal finished 15 points behind us last season and are behind us yet again this season?

It was a soft goal to concede at a crucial point in the game but their second goal was also a soft goal and there was more than one player who should've challenged Rosicky in the build up to that goal. Dudek was also at fault for the 2nd and 3rd IMHO and it reminded me that whilst he will always be a ledgend for his heroics in Istanbul he's not good enough to play for us.

They had 3 decent chances and scored 3 goals. All 3 were saveable particularly the second 2 which were very softly hit.We were unlucky in that everything they did attack wise came off with a little help from poor defending and inept goalkeeping. We'll put a strong side out on tuesday, stronger than we would have had we won on saturday and we'll do them.

We can have a rest on a few FA cup weekends now so all clouds etc

That's a fair comment but I still think that he could have done better with the second and 3rd goals. Not much he could've done about the first but the other 2 were saveable.

I would expect my great great great grandma to save the 3rd.

Yep me to. It was a shocking piece of goal keeping because the shot had absolutely no venom in it. However we move onwards and hopefully upwards from Saturdays massive dissapointment.

I don't care what Ket says, he can sue me if he wants for commenting on your post, but I'd really like to know why anyone thinks that any goalkeeper should be blamed for failing to save a shot from possibly the best striker in the world when he's about nine yards out from goal, on his favoured foot and with a yard of space courtesy of poor defending from a centre-back who was dumped in it by the far worse defending of his CB partner.

I'm not having a go at Carra - he made an error and he's entitled to make one every now and again - but I think it's far too harsh on Dudek to say he should have saved it. He might have done and he didn't but to say he should...

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Let the past be the past. There are new victories to be won.

Well, regardless of the distance and who it was who shot, I still think it was a bread and butter save. The Dude went down slower than Kirkland, something I didn't believe to be possible.
I could have saved it with my leg..it was rolling so slow that I could read the "Mitre" signs on the ball.

I don't blame him for the other two though.
And the D did let Henry in on the 3rd. Carra first, then Agger should have led Henry out towards the deadline.

2 days on and I'm still gutted about Saturday the good thing is however that we have an immediate chance to right the wrongs of that match.

I take your points but I think it's hardly surprising that Dudek might have been expecting a curling shot into the corner. Maybe Reina would have saved it. As someone else said on this thread or elsewhere, we'll never know.

I agree, let's move on. Hope Dudek plays tomorrow. How about you?

If Rafa says he'll play then that's fine by me. As I said earlier tomorrow is our immediate chance to right the wrongs of Saturday and that goes for Jerzy as well as the outfield players.
