How can the deal be completed if they havent made a formal offer??

No letters to minor shareholders regarding offer price = no formal offer

he probably read it on tribal football so it must be true.

he posts an opinion on lots of things Lec, and as a Historian, he shows he has no business knowledge whatsoever

Can they buy the 51% shares before making a formal offer to everyone else, or does it have to be simultaneous?

I thought i read somewhere they were going to buy they weren't going to buy out the minor shareholders till a later date.

Despite working in finance, I too am a historian, so could be very wrong

They can have agreed a price with Moores but they may have decided not to announce it and that means that they won't need to send out the letters yet to the minor shareholders.

The letters will be sent when they make their official bid.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

At the Supporters club meeting on Monday the stadium manager said the takeover would be completed this week, so it may seem that the reports on Talksport maybe true, lets hope so

Of course it's pure speculation. They have not anything and that means that everything is pure speculation right now.

If they make a "formal offer" then the other shareholders would have to be informed probably by letter (eventhough it would have no bearing on Moores' decision to sell or not). All shareholders have to have the same opportunity (whether to accept the offer price or not)

They might have made an agreement in principle to buy 51% but the moment a formal offer is made the shareholding would be informed

IMO the deal WILL be completed but isnt COMPLETED yet

I expect the following to happen
                      1) Due dilligence to drag on for a couple of weeks
                      2) A formal offer to be made,
                      3) An emergency board meeting called to accept the offer
                      4) Letters go out to shareholders detailing offer with a time limit for acceptance

Even this wont be the end there are milestones to watch out for

DIC need 75% of stakeholding to force through special resolutions (such as issuing unissued shares)
DIC need 90% of stakeholding to issue compulsory purchase orders for the remaining shareholders who hang out

Once they get 100% they can take the company into private hands

Although as Pacman has said this is pure speculation, its what I'm choosing to believe is going on at the moment
