LFC Go Back To The '80's ....

    From the BBC:

    Liverpool v Chelsea

    Anfield
    Saturday, 20 January
    Kick-off: 1245 GMT
Coverage on the BBC Sport website, BBC Radio Five Live & highlights on MOTD

Liverpool are set for changes in attack and defence, where they used three centre-backs last time out at Watford.

Now boss Rafa Benitez must perm two from Jamie Carragher, Sami Hyypia and Daniel Agger, while in midfield Mark Gonzalez is back from a shin problem.

Mikel Jon Obi will come into the Chelsea starting XI in place of the suspended Claude Makelele with Michael Essien still deputising in defence.

Keeper Petr Cech could make his first appearance since fracturing his skull.

......... the perms should really tighten things up.

Our defence was impermeable in the 70s and 80s.

I do aswell especially against this narrow Chav side. Finnan and Aurelio could cause havoc on the wings.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

... so your thinking - Neal, Thompson - and erm - might have to perm Tomy Smith - good luck with that ?

Me too. It'd help out with the "where do we play Gerrard" issue. Xabi and Momo in the middle with Stevie roaming. Two wingers and two up front.
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.
