they offered him a new contract as a coach. now that must prove they DID NOT SHIP HIM OUT PDQ. and if they wanted him as a coach again surely he must have impressed in some way while he was at Anfield.

i doubt that you will find anyone who says pele played well for us. However that was not the full story.

            it really is that simple.

I remember reading about a reserve match down in Wrexham. Pellegrino basically stood in line with the back four all night and told the defence when to move up, when to move back, who to mark and basically where they should be all game. He took them through the full match so I think it's probably right that he was offered some kind of coaching role. Wasn't he also offered the reserve team coach job before Ablett took the job?

thanks kurt i thought he was a poor player but there was more to his move than that

and i think we have nothing to lose by going for Ayala good player and good for the youngsters as well

I would be happier with Ayala than lucas Neill. Ayala, despite being the wrong side of 30, would offer so much more to the club.

Pellegrino did well for us and his signing was by no means a disaster.

yeah lucas has shown that he doesnt want to win trophies jsut to make as much money as possible

i can understand the earning money but surely the amount offered by us would set him up for life anyway

well what will he be able to tell his kids when they grow up about his career oh i know not alot.

                      Interesting link this Ayala one.

He'd certainly be a good move off the pitch as so many would look up to him and take in all he says and does. And I'm convinced that he's still one of the very best on it also.

However, with Carra, Agger and Hyypia fighting for the two starting places at present we've a healthy quota of quality centre backs to cope with the games this season. But saying that, I suppose Ayala would challenge with Carra for the one spot in defence whilst Sami and Agger fight for the other.

My worry is that Rafa would play Ayala quite often, as he did with Pellegrino originally when he arrived, and it might upset the understanding we currently have as an unit in defence. Don't get me wrong, I think Ayala's quality, but starting to play a new guy in a defence where we've currently got the best record this season might upset things as it takes time for players to get to know each others' games.

I trust Rafa and his decisions, but if we were to sign another defender now I'd have preferred it to be one that's just willing to come in as cover at the moment, and I'm sure Ayala would expect games - especially if he still has international hopes.

Anyway, I'd love to see Ayala in Red and I'd welcome the signing as ALL our players would learn from him, but I just hope it doesn't upset things if he arrives.

its not changing tunes a contract is a contract i was merely clarifying however this seems beyond you.

I just remember at hte time that it was mentioned alot on message boards. however the link to .tv does prove it to be incorrect.

perhaps someone can have a look to see if he was offered the reserve job before ablet.

No need to gloat, enema, it's very unbecoming.

                                End of.
                                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
