To be fair Shaggy, I do agree that he (and the defence in general) have done fantastically since he came to us and I am far, far more confident with him than I was with Dudek, but there still lurks in the deepest, darkest recesses of my mind just a little doubt about Reina.

I don't have the same level of confidence in him that I do have in say, Petr Cech, because I still think he is slightly suspectible to flapping on crosses and making mistakes. (Mind you that fear probably stems from the end of Grobbelaar, through James and onto westerveld and the dude). He won't make absolutely anywhere near as many as someone like James did, but I do think that there is still a problem there.

He is a great keeper, but I would not yet rate him as world class. In a few years, I might have changed my mind.

Tevez, Richards, Lennon, King, Martins, Baines... there are quite a few.

Ledley King would be a better option than Sammi - or Sol Campbell who is playing well for Pompey.
I'm tempted to suggest Arteta for the RM slot to compete with Pennant or Milner from the barcodes and of course Lennon.
Garath Barry would bolster our left side and is at least the equal of Riise on current form.
Up front there is little quality outside the top 4 but I have been impressed with Bent.
It's my job to handle life and death situations on a daily basis. It's what I do, and I'm very good at it.

tbh both of those keepers are prone to mistakes as well, given is great between the posts, a great reaction keeper, shot stopper, but he has no command over the box, rushing out is a weakness, but he is very good he just doesn't offer any support to the defence like reina does...

don't think Jaaskelainen is on par with reina and given, he makes errors of judgment often, and i'm not very convinced of him...

i think the only keepers who are on par with reina, and could possably be better are chech and van der saar

There is not a keeper on the planet who does not make mistakes.

Reina sometimes looks less then cool but it hardly ever costs us.

He is a great shot stopper, very confident, and works very well with the defense. He is not the best at commanding the box and punches the ball away most of the time but I think our zonal marking really helps him and his record shows that he is in the top three in the prem and one of the very best in the world.
He seems to fit our team perfectly and I would not have anyone else.

No-one's mentioned goalies mate, except my reposte to Rockets post of ex-players, it was only a tongue-in-cheek response of course.

I totally agree with you, and would reckon on Reina being the longest 1st team servant of Rafa in the end, without a shadow of a doubt, and it could be the beginning of a dynasty at Anfeild between the two.
