          What a lovely read.

Carra has so much to admire about him, but he probably wouldn't want us saying that. If I were a footballer, I'd like to think I'd be like Carra.

          RESPECT.

large numbers of ex-pro' footballers are now prominent in the football media. many of these played the best years of their career at a time when lfc was utterly dominant - beyond anything seen sice, just with a lower media profile (as had the game as a whole then).

Some of these seem to express a bitter negative prejudice against lfc intheir comments. Perhaps blaming lfc for limiting their own achievements or resenting their success. i would cite messrs gray, gayle, smith, crooks, wilkins etc as a few examples.

paradoxically - and i do not accept that it is my lfc-tinted specs at play here ecause non-red friends of mine agree - the ex-lfc players in the media are really rather balanced, and in-fact often hypercritical of lfc: hansen, lawrenson, redknapp, mcalister - even someone as passionate as pinochio isnt as way out as your ex-mancs like mqueen etc..

i think its entirely reasonable for an observer to conclude there is an anti lfc media bias - no need for embarrassment at all.
Dont have a problem with Gray. Which Gayle and Smith are you referring to? Crooks is just a bellend period, no anti-LFC bias, just a prize tit all round.

I've heard people slating Redknapp for having become 'moulded' by sky, or words to that effect. And he played FOR us. So how can we explain that?

I think the more reasonable conclusion is that our club has its faults like any other, but as fans, we have an element of bias and dont like seeing these faults exposed.

Sure, sometimes pundits go OTT with us. But they do so with most clubs at some point or another.

Most fans of the big four seem to think the media are 'anti' their club. I dont think there's anything in it. If anything, it's possibly the other way around, given how many ex LFC pundits are working regularly on BBC and Sky.

The same applies to numerous pundits, too numerous to mention. Although I'll give special mention to that c*nt Charlie 'The C*nt' Nicholas, cos he's clearly a bitter c*nt over choosing Arsenal instead of us and watching us win almost everything sight. C*nt.
I'm not suggesting that there ARENT any pundits to whom this applies, but they're the exception to the rule. By this logic, mancs could argue that the likes of Redknapp and McAllister are anit-MUFC, because United won a lot when THEY were playing.

Personally i think it's six of one, and half a dozen of the other.

Cant speak for anyone else, but suggestions of a media-wide anti LFC bias DO embarrass me.

Sections of the press take sides, and each clubs have their knockers who jump on them when the oppurtunity arises. We do seem to get it bad though, as we've always been a big club.
That's a decent post. Every big club gets its share of this, to suggest that we're unique in that is silly IMO.

When we beat Chelsea the media focus on their problems, which is understandable to a degree.
                    But
If we are beaten by anyone, and have players missing, not a word is said about that, and we would be called a bad team on that day.
I'd put that down to the fact that Chelsea are champions and that their defence is crumbling. Regardless of which teams are involved, the demise of champions is always going to be the story or 'angle' that the press will cover, because their job is to sensationalise things. I dont see it as a 'personal' thing, it's just how things work.

If we'd won the title last year (or last 2 years) and were now looking like imploding, it would've been our problems that they'd have focused on. And we'd probably have moaned about that too

If Liverpool take a beating, you won't see him quickening his step or accepting imaginary mobile phone calls to swerve reporters. If Liverpool win, he’s most likely to slip away unseen while others take the credit. Such modesty isn't a calculated act.

He'll keep them all guessing, but his delay putting pen to paper is further evidence of his disinterest in the footballing cult of celebrity. He's got a Premiership medal to win before he divides his career into chapters.

I can't speak highly enough of him.
Carra is well and truly a Liverpool legend for his contribution both on
                              and off the field.
He's a great credit to LFC and his City.

                                A modern day hero.
The team of Carraghers song is obviously a laugh, but if our whole squad had the same attitude and strength of character as Jamie C, we'd rarely get beaten.....
