We got Rafa and won the Champions League, he went to Barca and helped prevent Arsenal winning the Champions League.

I think it worked out well for all concerned

We bought Cisse instead for £14m. Eto'o cost Barca around £15m in the same summer.

To be fair to Houllier, Cisse did look a good signing at the time and overall hasn't done too bad. He just isn't a Rafa type of player.

Eto'o though, would have been sensational and had Rafa been in charge 1 year earlier we may have got him as he tried very hard to sign in for Valencia in 2004.
