Bojan Krkić (born August 28, 1990 in Lleida, Catalonia, Spain) is a 16-years-old Serbian-Spanish footballer who plays for FC Barcelona in Spain.

He is widely considered as one of the most promising young talents of his time. His father, who holds the same name, was a well known footballer in Serbia, where he played for Red Star Belgrade, and a scout for FC Barcelona since 1997. His mother is of Catalan descent.

Krkić joined the Barcelona FC's cantera in 1999, and scored over 500 goals in seven years.[1] A quick striker, with quite notable dribbling skills, Bojan Krkić shot to prominence at the UEFA European Under 17 Championships in Luxembourg in May 2006 when he was joint top-scorer. He achieved this despite being a year younger than most of the other players in the tournament and only playing 45 minutes in four out of five of Spain Under-17s matches. He scored a hat-trick against Luxembourg before inspiring his side to a 3-0 victory over the eventual champions Russia, with all of the goal being scored when he came on to the pitch as a second half sub. In the third match of the tournament, he scored a penalty after once again being introduced at half time. He started the semi-final against the Czech Republic but after his team mate Roberto García was sent off, Spain struggled and lost 2-0 in a shock result. In the third-place play-off Krkić was once again a second half sub and scored the opener on 53 minutes. When the match went to penalties, Krkić scored and his side won 5-4 to finish third.

Krkić is currently playing the 2006/2007 season with the FC Barcelona B team and is able to sign professional terms when he turns 17.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

BTW this story is load of bull****, can you honestly see Barca letting another on of their highest rated youngsters leave? Even then, can you see him joining us?

I see your point, but in the past they haven't been able to stop their highly rated youngsters leaving. Pique to the scum, Merida to the Arse.

Exactly. Wish the story was true, but it's very unlikely.

I saw a documentry on the kid and how they were dubbing him the next Ronaldinho. Why would Barca let him go?

Barca can't do anything if he decides to leave can they? If he don't get first team football very soon then I can't see him stay. I doubt that he would move to us because he wouldn't get it more easy to play for us.

Barcelona's Dos Santos brothers to gain Spanish papers
                        tribalfooball.com - February 13, 2007

The Dos Santos brothers are set to gain their Spanish citizenship next month.
Giovani dos Santos, 17, is regarded as Barcelona's hottest prospect, while younger brother Jonathan, currently with the club's youth team is also highly-regarded.

The agent of the Mexican brothers confirmed this week they will both receive their Spanish papers in March.

Yeah. It's funny how everyone have immigrated to other countries from here If you see a surname with "ic", "ič" or "ić" at the end, he's either from former Yugoslavia or Russia

I mean just look how many players play for other nations: Zlatan Ibrahimović, Teddy Lučič (Sweden), 90% of Australian squad is from where I live, now this Bojan Krkič or whatever his name is...

No wonder we have a ****e national team then... (however we were at Euro 2000 and World cup 2002 )

That says a great deal about us though.

                              arnt you in Slovenia?

if you are then i think you should make that 0% We have many Croatians and Italians, heaps of Greeks, and of course lots of English heritage....but Slovenian??

most of those players playing in Scandinavia with Balkan names stem from immigrating there from the wars they have repeatedly had in that area. There are lots of players with Bosnian names playing for and in Sweden and Denmark for example.

Liverpool boss Benitez eyeing Barcelona whizkid Dos Santos
                                tribalfooball.com - February 14, 2007

Liverpool are eyeing a shock move for Barcelona superkid Giovani dos Santos.

The 17 year-old Mexican is regarded as currently Barca's hottest youth product and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez knows he is set to gain his Spanish passport next month.

Dos Santos has been frustrated by the lack of first team chances he's had since being promoted to Frank Rijkaard's senior squad in preseason and came close to joining Olympique Lyon last month.

The talented midfielder is contracted to Barca until 2009 with a buyout clause of £20 million.
