Do not forget that with the 3 non european rule Barca may struggle hence a reason they may consider letting him go. They have Ronaldinho, Beletti, Edmilson, Messi, Eto'o, Saviola all without European passports

      No.

Lyon made a bid for him in the last transfer window but Barcelona turned it down. He apperently isn't happy that he isn't in Rijkaards plans yet and want to leave to get first team football.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The lad that choose arsenal over us in the summer Fran Merida was Barcas biggest talent coming throught, Barca were distraught. Merida is tipped to be better than fabregas

I remember seeing christiano ronaldo at this age, very similar in ability. If only GH paid the 11m for him back then. But then again,we did have a 6m bid accepted at first for ronaldo.

We would have had D. Duff before Ronaldo.

I think Beletti and Savi have got Euro Passports. I'm sure I remember from the old CM5 games that foreigners in Spain seemed to get Spanish citizenship after 2 yrs in La Liga, so Ronnie, Edmilson and Eto'o may be ok.

As for Dos Santos, looks a decent talent, but from the You tube clips he didnt look like the next Ronnie.

I hate to say it but...

                    1) If we did have a chance to get him I hope we pay some serious compensation to Barcelona because I'm fairly sure he has been there since he was around 14 years old. We complain about our academy but if we trained a quality player like that and had him stolen from under our noses we would be majorly pissed off.

                    2) It is probably better he doesn't come here. He has flair and creativity which would not shine with us. I hope that changes but at the moment that is the case and doesn't look likely to change.

                      Agree with point 2 Chrono

Why would a young, good player at Barcelona, playing the type of thrilling football they play and having the freedom to express themselves; trade it for a place in our reserves?

Dos Santos, Krkic dazzle for Barcelona B
                            tribalfooball.com - February 12, 2007

Barcelona B stars Giovani dos Santos and Bojan Krkic dazzled in the weekend's victory Llieda.

Barca B have struggled this season, but both teenagers were outstanding in the 3-0 victory, with Spaniard Krkic scoring twice.

It was Dos Santos' farewell performance before he joins Mexico U20 in late February.

                                Who knows mate?

Rafa might really rate the guy and be willing to put a crazy bid in like 15mil or something....Now it seems we have the cash available its a possibility (a small one mind) He could turn out to be as good as Ronaldo or Ronaldinho then it would have been a masterstroke by Rafa.

But i do agree can't see it happening.
