    Jeremie Aliadiere

Talent and a half this lad, all the makings of a top player - quick, skillful,
good balance, eye for a pass, clever movement, the whole works.

He has Henry, RVP, Adebayor, Baptista ahead of him at Arsenal and
he'll surely move on in the summer if he doesn't start playing regularly,
i wouldn't be against us making a move for him.

He's 24 in a few months, so he's hardly 'a real prospect' or anything. He's alright at everything and excellent at nothing. I'd be gutted if we signed him because he's not good enough by a long shot.

Add failed at Wolves, West Ham, Celtic to the list and he has hardly been a massive success at Arsenal, with the exception to tearing Paletta a new one in thr Mickey Mouse Cup.

A Newcastle United player if I ever saw one.

Doesn't it just?! Why the **** doesn't he just leave Arsenal for a smaller team and get some actual game time? He needs to wake up, realise he's turdfest, and move on!

              I think he's improved a lot !

He's learnt a lot from Henry and you can see that in the style of his play. Very quick with the ball at his feet! In stark contrast to the lack of improvement shown from John Newby, Mellor, Idrizaj, etc etc etc etc

I'd agree with Marky19 on this.

Not wanting to get into one of those 'so-and-so's signings are better than 'someones elses' threads but the fact that Wenger seems unsure about this guy (out on loan then back at the club) leads me to believe there is substance to Aliadiere. I've (we've?) seen so little of him I wonder upon what we're judging him.

An extended run at a club might tell the tale. Of the bit I've seen (not lately) I like the look of him.

And when I say 'play Gerrard on the left', I mean on the left

                  A defensive mid for £18m?

He's only stayed past this January because Van Persie got injured, he's soon to be 24 and hasnt really done anything in his career bar failing miserably out on loan and not being able to get anywhere near the Arsenal team.

Not getting anywhere near the Arsenal team is hardly the most crushing of criticisms at the moment, is it?

Certainly it can be argued that he - or someone - hasn't managed his carreer as well as it might have been, but I'm not sure that implies much about his ability. And I'm not sure what 'failing miserably' on loan actually means in reality. He failed because he didn't get a permanent move to one of those clubs? He, Wenger, or the club in question may not have wanted it at the time. But again, does this mean he's a bad player?

That he wasnt doing much while he was out on loan, what else could it mean?

And no it isnt but when theyve been ravaged by injuries and at his age he's still never got a run despite being there years it kind of proves he's not actually that good. He's just another Neil Mellor, good for crappy cup games, had a failed loan spell, ok sub, never in a million years good enough to start regularly for a top club.

Wiki's summary of his loan moves...

Given the limited opportunities at Arsenal and lack of playing experience due to his injuries Arsène Wenger sought to loan him out during the English 2005–06 season. He went on loan to Celtic at the start of the Scottish 2005–06 season in search of regular first team football, but the move was unsuccessful: Aliadière only made two substitute appearances, one in each leg of Celtic's UEFA Champions League loss to Artmedia Bratislava.

On 24 August 2005 the loan contract was transferred to West Ham United and Aliadière moved back to London. However his spell was once again blighted by injury and he only made eight appearances for the Hammers, seven of them as substitute.

On January 31, 2006 West Ham terminated his loan, and Aliadière moved to Wolves on loan for the remainder of the 2005–06 season. At the end of the season, he returned to Arsenal with no permanent move made [1].
What makes you think he is good enough, if at nearly 24 he has done **** all to show he might be even close to better than what we have?

But if he was succesful out on loan how would we know? He still wouldn't get into the (current) Arsenal line up.

I suspect we'll have to agree to you-know-what
