That's true. And it's easy to trot out the obvious names like Torres, Villa etc, but IMO we won't get them.

Don't get me wrong, as I said Yakubu isn't a bad player, but he would probably only be about 20th on my list of strikers I'd like to see us sign. Above him? Klose, Defoe, a fully fit Owen? Top of my list is Eto'o though.

Etoo, maybe as he is in a row with Barca, but I reckon there will be other suitors that will tempt him more than us...notably in Spain(Seville, Valencia) and Italy (Inter, Juve?).

Klose? I wouldn't mind him as a replacement for Crouch/Fowler. Will he come here though? Price? 10 mill? 12 mill?

Cariccolo looked decent....but I think he is more of a playmaking number 10 than a striker.
