Heh, depends who you talk to.

I like Cisse, but c'mon, there is a WORLD of difference between Eto'o and Cisse quality and attitude (on the pitch) wise.

Exactly. Bellamy is "a massive gob****e" and has a far worse record than Eto'o for being disruptive. He also scores far fewer goals, and his 8 or 9 this year hardly makes a convincing case for him to stay.

We should do whatever it takes to sign Eto'o.

Don't get me wrong, as I said Yakubu isn't a bad player, but he would probably only be about 20th on my list of strikers I'd like to see us sign. Above him? Klose, Defoe, a fully fit Owen? Top of my list is Eto'o though.
I'd take Yakubu ahead of Defoe any day. But, as you say, not ahead of Eto'o.
Berbatov is another name that might be bandied about - especially now that we have his old partner Voronin!

Fred? No thanks. Don't rate him.

Huntelaar might be possible for 12-15 mill.
        Torres too expensive at 20+.

Etoo, maybe as he is in a row with Barca, but I reckon there will be other suitors that will tempt him more than us...notably in Spain(Seville, Valencia) and Italy (Inter, Juve?).

Klose? I wouldn't mind him as a replacement for Crouch/Fowler. Will he come here though? Price? 10 mill? 12 mill?

Cariccolo looked decent....but I think he is more of a playmaking number 10 than a striker.
Klose would not break the bank. I reckon we could definitely get him for 10Mill or less, as he's near the end of his contract.
Regarding other suitors for Eto'o - you're right. There would be a huge scramble to sign him. I would imagine we would have a much better chance than Sevilla or Valencia though, whatever about Inter.

No chance, but I would love to have him. He would be a million times better than Bellend.

Why would he want to come to Liverpool? I just don't see it. If he comes I would imagine that it would be because of the cash, and if that is the case then i don't think I want him.....at least Bellend loves Liverpool (even if he is a prick and lacks composure in front of goal)

Cisse should of scored more goals though, but didnt because he has no touch, he is a very limited footballer.

Whereas Eto'o actually has skill in abundance, and can create his own chances

              Why not?

Do you think that every player we've got in the squad came because he's a boyhood red?

We had to triple Luis Garcias wages at Barca in order to lure him here. I think that's worked out pretty well for us, don't you?

I think that you have watched the wrong player.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I agree if it means getting rid of Bellers I wouldn't mind. I would keep him as backup though.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Well, it depends on how culturally adaptable Etoo is. The cultural barrier is often underestimated when it comes to footy transfers. The importance of the size of the club is often too much emphasized imo.(pardon the pun...)

Just wait until the Anfield game next week. He has played at the bridge. If they think that was impressive...... could it possibly sway Eto'o at all if we are indeed interested?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

But surely the Spanish culture is stronger at Liverpool than anywhere else in England though, he speaks Spanish so he´s got plenty of players to talk to and share a paella, don´t know about his English though.

Question marks about the weather in Liverpool though but he´s not supposed to spend his day sunning...
                        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Sure, we do have an edge on other Brit clubs...except if the players are keen on the bright lights of London.... more like the beggars and tramps and snotty gits of London if you ask me.

Yes, you're right it can work, however, how many times have we seen foreign players sign purely for the pay cheque and then show themselves to have a complete lack of fight and passion?

That is what I am wary of - but I trust Rafa's judgment

Agree but that Spanish culture didn't help Josemi who could settle and could learn the language.

Nando and nunez were spanish and they struggled to adapt the EPL as well

IMO Josemi & Nunez was never good enough anyway. Nando has somewhat of an excuse in that Rafa tried to play him in a role that he wasn't used to, and which didn't suit his strengths. I was not overly suprised when he failed.

Etoo is truly world class, So I see less chance of him failing.

Let's face it, unless we get a home grown striker, there is always going to be a risk of not adapting. I just think Etoo is a risk worth taking.
