That is what I am wary of - but I trust Rafa's judgment
Eto isn't that kind of man, he's desperate to win, always has been and that's where his outburst's usually stem from.

He's a class act, my brother inlaw is Catalan and a massive Barca fan and after last week he said he'd prefer to see Ronaldinho leave than Eto because of his attitude.

I really hope we get him, Rafa knows him well from the Real days and I think Eto would respect him because of that. As mentioned we have a good spanish speaking contingent so hopefully he should settle in Liverpool. last year he said he'd never want to play for Chelsea (although it looks like they will have a new manager next season so that could change) so that could go in our favour and as people have mentioned if he gets a good reception next Wednesday I seriously think he could be swayed towards joining the red men.

Id love to see him coming to us a CLASS player bit of a grumpy fooker but his goalscoring is phenomenal and still very young.

His goal record speaks for itself...

Anyone can look good on a highlights reel. Cisse couldn't finish and he had a comparable record in France. The French league just isn't very good.

Why would he want to come to Liverpool? I just don't see it. If he comes I would imagine that it would be because of the cash, and if that is the case then i don't think I want him.....at least Bellend loves Liverpool (even if he is a prick and lacks composure in front of goal)

Barcelona offer Eto'o to Benitez's Liverpool
                    tribalfooball.com - February 28, 2007

Rafa Benitez's agent has revealed Barcelona ace Samuel Eto'o has been offered to Liverpool.

The Anfield boss is considering a summer raid for Eto'o, 25, with Barcelona looking to offload the Cameroon ace.

But Barca want to spark a bidding war to push the price-tag up to £30million and are touting Eto'o around England with Chelsea also interested.

Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon said: "Barcelona have made Eto'o available on the English market. He has been offered by agents to Liverpool among others."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Samuel Eto'o's lawyer insists the Barcelona striker has not been offered to Premiership clubs.

Reports have claimed that the Cameroon international has been put on the market by the Spanish champions, following a recent bust-up with coach Frank Rijkaard.

The rumours claim that Premiership teams, including Liverpool and Chelsea, have been given the chance to sign the hot shot in the summer.

But Eto'o's lawyer Jose Maria Mesalles has rejected the claims that the player could leave Camp Nou at the end of the season.

Mesalles insists his client is 'very happy' at Barcelona and feels the rumours are mischief making from other agents.

"No agent has any authority to put Eto'o on the market," Mesalles told Cadena SER.

"He is very happy at Barcelona.

"But, if at any time, either the club or the player is keen to part company then we will reach an agreement, as you can't have a player at a club who is feeling unhappy.

The timing of all this "Eto'o to leave Barca" talk can't be bad for us...

I'd be over th emoon if we signed Eto'o.

He's a class player and would score bucket loads of goals in the EPL, I'm sure of it!

He'd cost a lot but if we could get him I'd be convinced we'd finally have that 20+ goals a season player who could shoot us to the next level and see us compete with the top two. Don't know how much he'd cost as others would surely be involved, but I'd be hopeful that Rafa could use his contacts in Spain to pull this one off.

Eto'o would be my first choice if we bought a striker this summer as he offers goals, pace, strength and that goalscorer's attitude that we need from our main striker.

My wish list for signing a striker this summer would be:

                            Eto'o
                            Villa
                            Klose
                            Torres

Mata is the most promising winger in Spain. He plays for Real Madrids B-team in the second division. He can play on right or left wing. Very fast and can get past his man.
