I wouldn't write it off, because anything can happen in football, and we have the money now to compete at the top level.Originally posted by Frank Leroux View Postbazza76,
You wouldn't write it off because you might like to see Torres coming.
If they said that Benitez was lining Voronin up, you'd - correctly - laugh.
Oh, hang on.
Frank.

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Firstly, where did I say he will be joining us?Originally posted by Maestro View PostNo joke. The guy is not a Rafa player. He will not be joining us.
I merely said *I* wouldn't mind him coming our way.
Secondly, wearing Man Utd shirts aside, I don't think there is too much wrong with his "mentality".

Maestro only highlighted the word Mentality because it's something Rafa ALWAYS says. No slight on yourselfOriginally posted by keniget View PostFirstly, where did I say he will be joining us?

Barca aside, if it came down to a choice of the Mancs and us, i refuse to believe he would choose them, if only for the spanish connection alone.Originally posted by bazza76 View PostI wouldn't write it off, because anything can happen in football, and we have the money now to compete at the top level.

Well the reason i say Man U is because they have been chasing him for some time now, and may even have bidded for him before.Originally posted by Joe Le Toff View PostBarca aside, if it came down to a choice of the Mancs and us, i refuse to believe he would choose them, if only for the spanish connection alone.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:

Yep the Manc rumours have been doing the rounds for quite some time now.Originally posted by bazza76 View PostWell the reason i say Man U is because they have been chasing him for some time now, and may even have bidded for him before.
Still think he would join us over them though. If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long

couldn't be more wrong now ladOriginally posted by keniget View PostWhy do people want Torres so badly?
He's not a goalscorer.
We already have two "providers" in Kuyt and Bellamy. We now need to add a world class finisher of chances to our team. Although his goalscoring record isn't that bad, that isn't his game.

Bwahahahahaha! This has made my dayOriginally posted by DJS View PostIf we're looking for a goalscorer, Torres is NOT the man.
He is a long way off 'prolific'.
20 in all comps in one season - has he ever managed it? Dont think so.
Good player, lots of potential but not the solution right now.
