Alan Brazil on Talk****e this morning said Chelsea wanted Torres - £40m+ bid etc, he'd had it on good authority from "a couple of phone calls from different people".
Can't see any grain of truth in it tbh, but thought you all might want a laugh.

That will only buy his left foot!!! Fernando is priceless as far as I'm concerned!!
Chelsea boss Avram Grant is eager to strengthen his squad in front of the next season, and he could break the English transfer record fee to get his hands on the best players
Daily Mirror reports that Chelsea tried to sign Liverpool's Fernando Torres in the January transfer window, but a bid of £ 40 million was not enough to get Torres.
The chase will continue and speculations are that Chelsea could break the English transfer record and bid up to £ 100 million to get the Spanish forward.
The message from Liverpool is that Torres is not for sale, not for any price, but everyone in football knows that money can buy what you want if the price is right.
Will Liverpool afford to say no to £ 100 million ?
I hope they do bid 100million, and when we turn them down and Nano makes one his legendary 'anfield is my pitch' statemants they will look like complete dicks!!!

I would love it............LOVE IT.
It's very nice having a player in our team for whom we would all unanimously and categorically turn down £100m for...i.e. priceless.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
AFII got fed up cos Nic83 was slating him on every thread. AFII did come in for a lot of unfair criticsim though to be honest..I'm surprised he stuck it out for as long as he did
I was in my arse. He's one of the posters I actually like on here. I may have over done the FM manager jibe though but that's all it was.
What really happened was AFII then thought he'd use me as an excuse for a sympathy vote. He will be back, he only left as the season was over but thought he's use the excuse to go out in a blaze of glory.
Even in a post where he says he likes AFII he uses it as an opportunity to deride the man, who is not here to defend himself.
People like AFII are the lifeblood of forums like this - there's something seriously wrong when they get driven out by self-indulgant, self-serving smug muppets like Nic.

"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.
