    Torres?

Liverpool scout Atletico Madrid ace Torres
    tribalfooball.com - February 28, 2007

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez will compete for Atletico Madrid hotshot Fernando Torres at the end of this season.

Benitez sent his top Spanish scout Pedro Campos to watch Torres in action against Real Madrid on Saturday and received a glowing report.

The Atletico Madrid hitman, 22, delivered a first-rate display including a stunning strike for his ninth goal of the season.

Liverpool would have to pay £27m to meet the transfer clause in Torres' contract if they decide to go for him ahead of Eto'o.

That would smash Reds' record £14m transfer fee to land Djibril Cisse from Auxerre in 2004.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I'd love, if we would sign Torres. I think he has potential to become a world class striker.

Torres? Villa? Eto'o? Klose? Can't wait for the silly season!

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Eto'o would be far and away top ot my shopping list. He is better than torres whom I would have doubts about.
He wont be the golden boy at Anfield, we already have Stevie lol.
Just think Eto'o would settle better and is a better player anyway.
Although I do think eto'o is a fan of bling and bright lights so the London factor could be an issue.

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Hmm, over the next 4 months there's going to be loads of Tribal Football articles with virtually the exact same words, but the player's name changed

wouldn't write it off though, I know they post every single snippet of info they see, but some of it's got to be right, and Rafa likes good alround stikers, which Torres is.

Some would argue he already is - especially after his displays in Germany.

I know yeah, it's alot like KT just trashing out stories. the % rate would be very low.

Why do people want Torres so badly?

                        He's not a goalscorer.

We already have two "providers" in Kuyt and Bellamy. We now need to add a world class finisher of chances to our team. Although his goalscoring record isn't that bad, that isn't his game.

They cover a lot of what the media says and a lot of journos is **** so it will be a very low % rate of true stories.

The ones you can believe is the ones with quotes from players or from a club when the one who they quoted is named. They can have taken the other stories from any not believable paper or TV channel.

                            Thats exactly the point.
Im not saying id love us to sign him, but i could understand if Rafa was interested, as you say, for a player whos game isnt an out and out goal scorer, he has a good goal scoring record. so he creates aswell then and has an aerial presence?.

I think the difference now is that we have a chance of landing Eto'o, Torres or Villa. Lets face facts last year even if one of he above had wanted to come to LFC and their club were willing to do business, we couldn't have afforded them. now we can. I'm not saying one of these strikers will come but they might. If the player fancies LFC and the club will sell we can now afford to compete for the player. And what a pleasant change that is.
