If we're looking for a goalscorer, Torres is NOT the man.

He is a long way off 'prolific'.

20 in all comps in one season - has he ever managed it? Dont think so.

Good player, lots of potential but not the solution right now.

I´d take Eto'o or Villa before him, I also have this nagging feeling that he doesn´t wan´t go anywhere else than ManU. and that he´ll fail to adapt.

Torres is younger than Villa and has the potential to be even better than him I think, even if he is a tad worse than Villa at this stage.
Etoo would be better than both, but I think Huntelaar is the purest poacher of them all.

The times I have seen him play for West Ham he played as a winger. Maybe he didn't do that in the other games he has played for them.

I wouldn't have minded taking Tevez at the end of the season. As with Maschareno, his time at West Ham shouldn't be used to judge him completely. Now that we've signed Voronin however, it doesn't seem as though we have room for him, unless say, someone like Bellamy or Garcia joins Crouch on the way out.

I think people are getting a little too over excited with possible transfer targets. The same rumours have gone round and round ever since Rafa got here and what was the end result? Crouch, Pennant et al. No sight of Torres, Aimar, Aguero or Pele incarnate.

Perhaps things will be a bit different now that we have some money, but anyone who thinks we'll be shelling out 60 odd million this summer is living in fantasy land.
