If people want to beleive that a fit Owen isn't a world class striker then it's up to them. The problem is his fitness and not his goal scoring record. The way he left us doesn't make him a worse player on the pitch.

I hate the way he left us but I would take a fit Owen back because he would make our team better.

    That's my opinion of course

My last post in this thread if someone don't ask me to back up anything.
    He's 28 now anyway.

The problem is that none of us know how well he will play when he comes back from injury.

Owen has hardly played in two seasons, and the season before that he wasn't exactly overused at Madrid.

It makes no sense to compare him to the player he was at Liverpool.

Personally I think anything over £5m would be too big a risk to take.

IF he was to become available who would take him?????

I think Ferguson would be in there like a shot for one, other than that, where the fcuk does he go from Newcastle if not back to us or to the Mancs??

Regardless of what he says, i refuse to believe he isnt pig sick about leaving when he did, with the benefit of hindsight of course.

Suprise, suprise he has never, never, ever, ever, hit 20 goals in the league.

I would like you to back up that goals/games ratio!!!!

I bet you're now going to tell me that Owen is/was a better finisher than Robbie.

Not a better finisher, but his goals / game ratio was better than Robbie's. Especially when you think he achieved that in a Houllier side which had the poorest run for 40-odd years, and a terrible defensive mentality (cf to Evan's teams which a young Robbie played in). The lad was and is class. If he gets his fitness back, I'd take him back over ANY of our current strikers (maybe not Kuyt). He guarantees goals.

C'mon........Mike was a world class striker...don't let the circumstances he left in alter the fact that he consistantly scored over 20 goals a season for us and always in the big games....what is your definition of worldclass eh??? he was a great striker...maybe not the same quality player anymore tho

Of course he wasn't, god he was such ****e striker at every level he played at and of course his goals tally was never that good anywhere was it. :whatever:

A famous commentator once said "Goals pay the rent..." And Owen's paid his share and more.

By all means say you don't want him back but don't make things up to suit your argument. That's how a tabloid journalist works.

As for banning Owen threads, do we have to ban everything that doesn't suit you? Hardly fair, as you don't have to contribute if you don't want to.

Why is it we keep bringing these ****ing things into the equasion when we get beat? Owens gone, he was great when he was here, i loved him, move on!

No-one better for the big occasion it has to be said.
I bet he'd have stuck away a couple of our chances yesterday.
                            Thats the difference.
