The way the game turned out in the second half there was no need for Sissoko to be on the pitch. He was poor today. There are certain types of games to which he is best suited. Barca away the other week was a perfect example. He's better without the ball than with it. As an attacking force he's a bit of a black hole. His passing is only above average at best, and he doesn't score. It didn't help that Alonso wasn't firing either.

IMO Stevie G should play in the middle in the league, every week. In Europe it's different.

Its not that our strikers are poor but they are not out and out goalscorers. They put a lot of work in but the problem is as they are going wide and working we have no one in the box. We do have a lot of shots but quite a lot are not necessarily good chances

At the moment watching LFC is like listening to the first demo of a band that became collosal a few years later. So much promise, but there's something that needs refining. I wish we would stay away from the press and become a silent enigma once again. To hold the Scum at home like that for 88 or so minutes is no mean feat, before people even argue they came looking for a draw. Ronaldo, Rooney and Saha were all nullified and we had their defense pushed back. Typical that we let it slip, but I blame the current trend of teaching goalkeepers to act like a pinball machine instead of catching the ball. Saying that, I was watching Sopcast, so the mobile phone advert disrupted my viewing.

What we need is a winger that can make excellent crosses and get past his man....Alves.

What we need is a clinical striker...Eto'o, Villa, Owen, Huntelaar or Klose is what we need.

What we need is a attacking playmaker....Diego, Sneijder or Deco would make us very dangerous the last third.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Totally agree. I'm really starting to think that Rafa's strength as a coach and tactician are based on the defensive side of the game. We need to improve our attacking game, and I really am beginning to believe this is not just down to inept strikers! Although this is part of the problem!

We need 2 clinical strikers imho. Not sure where a Diego etc. would fit in. If we played 4-4-2, you'd have to play Gerrard wide all the time, which I don't believe is his best position, and if we do get Alves he should play there.
Gerrard and Alonso / Momo / MAscher should be CM partnership.

But we despeartely need 2 more goalscoring strikers to play with Kuyt.

I can't believe we have just been robbed like that, I called it to a mate of mine about 5 minutes before they scored. "These lucky ****ers are gonna score with your first shot at goal" How gutted I was when they did.

We played well today, we contained them and they offered nothing going forward and were obviously playing for a draw. We lacked cutting edge up top. I was really suprised Bellemy came off when he did, I though Momo was having a bad game and would of taken him off for Crouch, put Bellemy to the right of a front 3. He seemed to be pulling Vidic out of position and was getting the better of him. I think Kuyt needs to be getting forward more, it's o.k getting envolved in the build up but he needs to start having some shots and bagging a few more goals.

Just nearly chinnned my Manure supporting flat mate as I walked through the door and later I've got to go to a girls 21st birthday party that will be full of ****ing Utd fans. I am not happy at all....

Looks like we are gonna have to make it 6 and shut these ****ers up....

No it shouldn't - he was offside.

The problem is that excellent attacking players costs very much money. Rafa hasn't been able to afford them so far.

If you can get an excellent attacking player below £20m then it's an excellent deal.
