I thought Kuyt was okay yesterday and had Bellamy put in a better pass he would've scored.
    Spot on.

      That's ****ing ****e.
Is this league goals or overall? Crouch has the best goalscoring record for us, both in terms of actual goals scored and goals per game. He's played fewer games than Kuyt & Bellamy, and has more goals.

How convincing does a case have to be?

It's a sad state of affairs, but Crouch is our best striker.

          I agree.

But Kuyt's league record (which is the bread and butter to me) is slightly better, and given it's his 1st Premership season, I'm prepared to give him time. But Bellamy's record is what it always has been at the top level (with the exception of 1 decent season at BBurn) - distinctly average.

does anybody really see bellamy as simply being in the side for goals. I would think he was more of a second striker. Beardsley's career stats were something like 200 goals in 600 games, 1 in 3. Was he distinctly average?

No but Beardsley clearly offered stacks more than just goals. Bellamy doesn't offer the same guile, ingenuity and craft. Obv. His final ball is often lacking, his finish is often lacking and he doesn't even utilise his pace all that well.

Its like tha for alot of teams mate, i looked on 4thegame at the goals from midfield the only ones who had a good contribution where Arteta, Lampard and Ronaldo. Look at the goals from Chelsea & Man U is Drogba and Ronaldo. Arsenals are spread with Van Perise Ronaldo Adebayor and Gilberto so they are more balanced.

                        Overall.

                        It's not good enough.

so why is the criticism about him always about his goal stats as if it gives conclusive evidence that he is ****?

Well I suppose it's because he's a striker and, as the old adage goes, strikers are ultimately judged on goals.

but you have just said yourself why another striker would not be judged solely on goals
