Voronin is already signed, we also IMO need another "TOP QUALITY" striker, chances are if we get a top top striker, they will settle relatively quickly due to their quality. Preferably a physically strong signing if they are from abroad. Eto'o would be perfect, even if it is a bit of a dream.
ID love us to sign some real quality on the wings, if GOnzo came good it would be great, but im not going to hold my breath, same can be said of Kewell regaining full fitness and staying fit. Pennant? he should be well used to the PRemier League by now, he is good, but he is not top class and thats what we need.
Two new wingers, and another new striker them along with Vornin is 4 new signings.
Wont be as bad as last year (6 new signings i think) and I think they will be of a higher standard. (fingers crossed)
have to stay with cacodemon. we dont need much - we just need quality. Gerrard will be the right winger - right or wrong i firmly believe it will happen so thats why i say we only possibly need a frightening striker and maybe a left winger. my concern is that we wont be able to attract the mega players we need. Alves, villa and eto are not coming to this club. neither is torres. I just cannot see it.

Forget signing just a couple of players, it should be six in and six out minimum.

I know Voronin has signed but I'm still trying to work that one out.
six in and six out would mean a shed load of disruption to the squad and team. Doesn't make sense if we want to win the league next year.

Nothing wrong with the defence, not much wrong with midfield baring a little top class magic, and we have plenty of options upfront for the different occasion apart from the genuine world class finisher. Thats two. (Not including the strange Voronin signing, and any kids/cheap imports/reserves bought)

settle down, and back away from the mic.

dont need someone to replace dudek hes alright bought padelli or did that oass you by?

you could argue that you need another centre half but its not top priority

if you think Riise cant defend then - youre wrong - and you have aurelio who is a classy footballer stuffed by injury this year.

gerrard on the right - dont argue - its going to happen like it or not.

left winger yes. no idea who is that good and realistically available.

behind strikers? gerrard, voronin, garcia, kewell at a push.

striker - yes but only 1. the 3 we have are good players and we just need one talsiman. he doesnt even need to score 20 a year - he just has to hve some sort of real magic that frightens opposition like an henry, drogba, or rooney.

I think we will deffo bring in a right sided player, Pennant was a last option it seemed last summer, and I would guess with this new wealth coming in that Rafa will try and get in a higher quality right sided player in the summer.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Buy god I hope this lad hits the ground running after he arrives, because if he doesn't it appears like he's going to get absolutely slaughtered.

I know what your saying but I wouldn't want to be sitting here in twelve months still saying that we need a left back back, a centre half and a winger to challenge for the title.

I do agree though if we were going to get two world class players, it would need to be in attack and midfield.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

its such a weird one. But at this stage of things i just cannot believe that benitez hasnt seen something that this guy can do than no one else has seen. im thinking he might be a massive shock - you never know - if he reads anything in the english media hes going to realise that hes got absolutely nothing to lose right from the beginning......

im of the opinion that it wont take long to settle in if your good enough, i know that most genuine world class players will be even better after a 12 month settling in period but what the hell, i still think we need a good few players, be it 1st teamers or squad players, id get rid of the following:-
dudek (past it), aurelio (not enough ..something.. in my opinion) pennant (just not bloody good enough)...and the following would be on a 12 month "trial" :- kewell (if not fit or good enough then its time to say goodbye), crouch & bellamy (both in my opinion good players but not good enough for us). So thats three new players....and three squad players....id like carson to push reina, no expense there as hes already ours, im stuck for a great left back, right and left wingers are the usual suspects (id love to see lennon and somewhat controversially robben) and up front i want a 1st teamer (Eto'o) and up and comer (huntelaar), and id LOVE to steal sheva from chelski....hopeful i know but i cant help but think someone with the finishing ability of him would be a great for us, despite his age!
                      Thats my thoughts.....

Actually, I think Riise is a very mediocre defender.

                              Whips out of tackles.
Throws himself to the ground when trying to tackle.
                              very weak positioning.
Is easily sucked towards the ball and out of position.
Very one footed, making him limited in his play.
Too stand offish, letting opposing players get their crosses in too often, usually because he is more concerned about not getting skinned.

I will leave out his contributions going forward, which basically consists of the odd cracker and brilliant stamina.

Average talent that got a long way due to his very professional attitude.

You have to admit, for such a one footed player, he scored a lovely goal with his right against Barca that most right footed players would be proud of.
