Thanjk you.

You have to admit, for such a one footed player, he scored a lovely goal with his right against Barca that most right footed players would be proud of.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
Rafa was also checking his glasses after that one.

somebody please remind me of any of our existing BOUGHT players that 'need a year to adapt' that have actually come good?
In my opinion of our starting 11 & impact players that would compete in any title winning team non of them have needed a year to adapt.
Reina, Finnan, Hypia, Riise(?), Agger, Garcia, Alonso. Hell I'm not a fan of sissoko but even he didn't need to adapt to fulfil his role as breaking up opposition attacks (still don't think he'll ever learn to pass the ball or have any composure when he has the bloody thing!)
Face it every season we've bought too many players on the cheap instead of investing in fewer quality signings that cost more. This lack of quality is evident throughout our team.
My biggest worry is not what we've done in the past but that we'll continue to implement this flawed tactic post investment. The signing of voronin is indicitative of this.
Clear out the crap. Buy 2 QUALITY Strikers, 2 QUALITY Wingers and possibly a fullback of quality and we'll compete in the league
Rage man, im with you....clear out the crap! it seems that loads of fans dont see that theres a good half dozen players who arent good enough for Liverpool!!
As for voronin...i reckon they must have sorted that out before the buyout and didnt want to back out of their word. (or couldnt).
He will be ok as hes a free though so doesnt really bother me...
Houlliers choices??? Pennant is getting close before the end of his 1st season injured and without a sustained run Scored the same amount of goals as Rooney and Saha respectively What`s Aurelio done wrong?

I did say i wasnt thinking too much about the list, but ive heard - he'll need a year to adapt or fully adapt - about all of the above i think. Fair play some havent had a proper go through injury......
A goalkeeper to replace the Dude
A centre half to replace Sami
A left back that can actually defend
Two wide players, one for either wing
A player that can play behind the strikers
A 20 goal a season player
Forget signing just a couple of players, it should be six in and six out minimum.
I know Voronin has signed but I'm still trying to work that one out.
IF we were to do that I'd be worried we will again be waiting for players to gel. Then come November things would start to click by which time we will be playing catch up

Our current side has a decent record since end of October / early November
Maybe we should go with the current squad next season instead of having to wait for players to gel
You are basically advocating bringing in 5 first team players, the last three seasons will tell you that the settling in period for so many players takes too much time and by the time we get going the Leagues over
For me its a real balancing act and we only need fine tuning imo. I really worry about bringing in wholesale changes because it does affect your initial momemtum

There is a lot in what Lecter says. Our best league season under Ged (2001-2002) we only made one close season signing (Riise) and then I think we only brought in a couple more players during the season - Anelka and Xavier.
there is a lot to be said for stability and I for one would be happy if we made only 3 signings in the close season as long as they are top quality additions and not squad players.
Whatever. I dont buy it - I really dont and weve had so much of it....im bored of hearing this excuse.

So far we've agreed deals for Voronin & Leto
I'd be happy with keeping the squad and adding in a top quality forward and a top quality wide player (Eto'o & Alves)
We could then give these guys time to settle whilst the current players kickstart our season
IF we ever have a good start to the season then its time to buckle our seatbelts because that year we will genuinely challenge for the title
