I sincerly hope that rafa only adds one or two top signings because i feel that we are on the verge of having an excellent team and that if he makes too many changes, then it might be a case of starting from scratch again.....
However, it is possible that Hyypia may leave as he doesn't seem to be the type of player that would be happy to sit on the bench every week and also it seems that crouch may leave too for the same reason. Kewell has also be linked with a move out but we may find it hard to let him go if he doesnt get enough games before the end of the season....
This is possibly a vital time for benitez to get things right in the transfer market - should he go foreign and buy villa / torres / klose and risk the player not settling properly (cisse, morientes) or does he buy from the prem...
I reckon the following players might be worth a look at........
Klose - has stated that he wants to try a new league and surely he would score a hatload of goals - good in the air and the ground. Pushing on in age but still would be a great signing and i feel with alonso, gerrard, kuyt creating the chances, then he could turn out to be the missing link - alsohe wouldn't cost an arm and a leg like torres or villa.
Tevez - maybe we can get him for next to nothing once west ham are relegate a-la mascherano. He seems to be getting better with every game an would be a great player to have in the squad. Could be a good impact player to have on the bench....
Saviola - available on a free transfer - not sure rafa could ever find a place in the team for him though...
Anelka - could we re-kindle our interest in nic??? Rafa choose to buy morientes over him 2 years ago but if anelka did think that liverpool would want him now, he'd surely kick up a fuss in the papers saying how bolton are crap - thus leaving them with no option but to sell. Again, he could be the missing link, he has a point to prove, and i reckon would score goals if played every week up top.
Upson - possible clause in his contract - he left birmingham when they appeared to be pushing on for promotion sohe wont want to spend a season in the cc championship - 4million would probably get him..
Gamst Pederson - excellent player with a good football brain. If rafa did not reckon Speedy G was going to cut it, then he may possibly go for this left winger - i reckon rafa will persist with gonzalez for another season at least though...
