I'm sure he gives an honest, subjective opinion, but hyperbole like Lampard is "the best midfielder in the World" is clearly not objective.

Cmon Fat Frank is related to him so he obviously shows a bit of loyalty to his family.......I remeber him saying the same about Stevie aswell as calling God the best finisher he has ever seen!! He aint perfect just honest. In the world of punditry he is a novice so I am sure he will improve.
      Dare we believe

Some of his hyperbole annoys me, some of his comments and criticism of Benitez are extremely wide of the mark (although I accept this is probably because he is viewing it from a player's perspective), but the biggest axe I have to grind with the guy is that he is so bland, uninteresting and struggles to string together a coherent, cogent argument. He seems completely lacking personality.

Hope he does improve, but seen no signs of it yet.

He's not the best pundit, but he makes more sense (even if I don't always agree with him) than most other pundits

And herein lies the problem. He is one of the more coherent ones in a bad bunch. Hardly a ringing endorsement

On a different note, Merson is squealing a load of bollocks on Soccer AM at the mo. Really is the worst pundit IMO.

The attitude towards tv pundits on here is laughable at times. As a club we have more ex players on tv as pundits than any other clubs. BBc Have Hansen & Lawro as their top 2 men, Sky are clearly grooming Jamie to take over from Andy Gray & even ITV use Jim Beglin. Many on here expect them all to be pro LFC, to knock the our rivals at every chance etc etc. Yet ex blue Andy Gray is given loads of stick for being ante LFC.

So in summary every ex LFC player should be openly biased/supportive of us but every non LFC should be 100% impartial. Thats sounds fair.

I don't think that highly of most pundits because they're gob****es, but only Merson, Rodney Marsh, Charlie Nicholas and (of course) Andy Gray irritate me.

Of the ex-Liverpool players, I like Hansen and Thompson, and can tolerate Lawreson and Redknapp.

                      So is Shaka.
                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

                          fair enough mate.
But youd expect an ex LFC player to know a thing or two about fotball.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
