    Opta stats...

    Interesting reading

"Problem" seems to be cross and shot conversion, suggesting we either need better wingers or (IMO) a striker who finishes the chances.

I 'm not a big fan of stats but they are quite interesting

Show how important Alonso is to us as well , despite some people thinking he's having a bad season

Dont mean much i dont think. But slightly interesting that crouch is by far and away the most accurate shooter followed by Bellamy - not Kuyt.

I spotted the same, and also thought that Gerrard (who doesn't seem to have been as good as last year) has again been our most influential player in several areas.

There's no 'or' about it - a striker who finishes the chances is what we need plain and simple. Our lack of ruthlessness in front of goal has already bitten us in the ar5e a few times this season - Utd at home being a prime example. We ended up getting away with it v. Barca, but it's easy to imagine how sickening it would have been had we conceded another and gone out when we should have/could have had three or four goals by half time.

Lately I reckon we're missing Garcia's goals - especially in BIG games. It would be nice if Dirk could find his scoring touch too (maybe next season?), but we could really do with an out and out goal machine.

We're OK in the creation department - Bellamy, Kuyt, Pennant and Crouch will create opportunities for each other and the team as a whole create good openings and situations, but we don't have goals throughout the team. If we're going to cope without a high scoring striker then we need more goalscorers all over the pitch. Apart form Riise and Gerrard the midfield don't chip in too often and whilst our forwards can all score goals, they all lack the true predators instinct - that little bit extra that would make them prolific.

A top quality striker would be the first priority in the Summer for me. Who though - that's the big question...

                  Want some more stats?

Under Rafa our win % matches both the careers of Ferguson and Wenger (around 57%) and is even slightly higher than Sir Bob. Mourinho is closer to the 70% mark, but f*ck him.

The big difference is the losing. Ferguson and Sir Bob are both around 18.5%; while Wenger is slightly better at 17.5%. Mourinho is around 12%, but f*ck him.

Rafa's loss percentage is closer to 25%.

Put those stats in your pipe and smoke em.

Seen Lampard's and Stevie's pass completion compared to Scholes?

                              Yup.

He's been asked to 'come clean' - that's all. Yet he just ignores everything, waits for his 'suspension' to expire then just steams back in with more pro-Manc bull****. Not good enough. There's room for fans of other clubs on here but not for blatant WUMs.
