    David Villa speaks...

Is it just me or does this lad change his tune everytime he's interviewed?

£30million striker flattered by Liverpool link
    16:27 March, 9, 2007
David Villa admits he is flattered to be linked with a move to Liverpool.

Reports in the media suggest Reds boss Rafael Benitez is ready to pay £30million for the Valencia striker in the summer, and the player admits he is flattered by the interest although he remains happy at the Mestalla.

"Liverpool don't just have a coach who is Spanish but I also have a lot of friends there," Villa told the Daily Star. "When Rafa (Benitez) was coach at Valencia and I was at Zaragoza, there was contact about me joining Valencia.

"But I couldn't arrive until the year after he left. The talk is flattering, and it makes you see that if you are doing things well, other teams should become interested in you.

"But all the time there is nothing concrete, then I am not going to think about it too much. The day that happens, we will look at the situation then. Things can happen in the future but right now I am happy at Valencia."

I'm sure I read a similar or identical interview a couple of weeks ago.

Let's hope he's an option for us in the summer - I can see him wanting to stay in Spain though.

I just want to say I read the thread title as "David Villa squeaks". It promised more than the thread delivered but that's not a criticism DS.

I think I need new glasses.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

So why has Villa changed his tune the last months?

Valencia would be if he said something like this without Valencia being prepared to sell him.

My guess is that at least one club is very close to secure a deal with Valencia.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Don't know. My heart says we will but the head says "not a hope"...just cant see us attracting the highest calibre players. United have struggled to do it over the years so can't see it being any different with us!!

I can see him coming to us in the summer along with Alves or another right sided player, and i think that'll be it, apart from maybe a free transfer or two.

He's playing games with the media, im sure he's knows already who he wants to join in the summer. Obviously he's under contract with Valencia so he cant come out and say that he wants to join anyone.

Behind the scenes im sure his people are already negotiating with other clubs
