I hear you on that one. Without his goals we would never have one the CL in 2005. He was on fire that year in the CL knockout stages.Originally posted by dirty_sanchez View PostAlonso has been Rafa's best signing IMO.
Agger second
Reina third
Garcia fourth
Garcia's contribution has been invaluable, but also, we've lost games because he's not even shown up. On his day he's brilliant, but also sometimes he's ****ing garbage.Forwards.......

Class act the lad, turning into one of my fav players for us, only gonna get better with the more games he gets under his belt.
Future Liverpool Legend and i don't say that lightly."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

The lad is only 22, and is still a long way from the finished article, but his transition to first team regular has been ridiculously smooth when you think about it.
He's gone about his business with the minimum of fuss and has already racked up 37 games for us. Centre back is a very difficult position to break into the team and I think he's shown excellent maturity and the requisite aggression required for the role.
He can only get better which can only be good for us.

True dat
I don't think any of us expected him to be this good so soon...now we need one of the other young 'uns to emerge as a capable backup and we're sorted at CB for the next few years"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

TBH I think AF2 has always said he was coming to Anfield before anyone else and that he would also be a massive hit without taking to much time to adapt.Originally posted by Fiddy View PostTrue dat

Rafa: Agger the professional
By Rich Middleton Thursday 29th March 2007
Rafa Benotez has praised the attitude of defender Daniel Agger, and said he has been delighted with the way the player has settled into the Liverpool lifestyle.
The young defender has become a regular for the Reds, and Rafa said he believes that is down to Agger's professional, focused approach, plus a similar lifestyle with his native Denmark.
Rafa said, "I think that the Scandinavian mentality is similar, the weather and daily life is similar. I know from experience that Spanish people have more problems, the Latinos because of the sun and the weather. We Spanish, for example, go to bed at midnight whereas here you maybe go to bed at 10pm."
He added, "So I think because day to day life is similar, that is a reason, but also because Daniel is very professional, he's very, very focused in his career, very well prepared for every game."
"These things help because if you have a player who is 21 years old thinking about girls and cars and things like that, then maybe it would be more difficult for him to settle down, but he's very, very focused on football."
what a great buy by rafa.
