What a brilliant player he was and that little clip doesn't show it all.

Is there a DVD specifically dedicated to that era (late 80s) or, even better, specifically dedicated to Digger? I have the 501 goals DVD and other ones that show some of Barnes at his best, but nothing too comprehensive.
I'd highly recommend "The Mighty Reds" which is a VHS but I'm sure someone has copied it over to DVD

I met him at Thorpe Park and he was an absolute gent - was in the same queue as me for one of the rides.

He had a knack of hitting the byline and putting in a perfect cross when you were sure he had taken it too far. A spectacular player.

I have it on VHS too but would be glad to have a copy of a DVD.

He was called Digger because his initials were JCB. Isn't that the correct one?

That compilation was class. His last goal reminded me of Maradona - bounding over tackles, flicking the ball into the net and then wheeling away with one arm in the air.

Just had a look on Wiki and it is the Dallas one. Still, JCB is nice isn't it?

I remember hearing him being called Digger on the Kop and in some Freudian slip assumed people were calling him a n****r (censored that meself), not being a fan of Dallas I had no idea. At the time I thought it was a bit bizarre that so many fans would openly abuse him.
