    Garcia fit for pre-season

    Pointless news article alert

Luis Garcia aims to be 100 per cent fit in time for pre-season.

The Liverpool midfielder damaged knee ligaments early in January, which brought his season to a premature end.

Garcia is now well into his rehabilitation and he is more than hopeful of a full recovery.

"My objective is to be perfect for pre-season," he told Radio Marca.

Garcia is obviously annoyed at missing out on the remainder of Liverpool's season - but he feels The Reds could repeat their success of 2005 when they captured the UEFA Champions League crown.

"This year something special could happen in the Champions League," he added.

Garcia also remains unfazed by the constant speculation linking boss Rafa Benitez with a return to Spain with Real Madrid.

"The press said a year ago he would be leaving, but Benitez came and said to us that should he leave we would be first to know," he said.

"But I believe he likes it a lot here."

Yes but if not it's OK because we've got Voronin.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Good stuff, we need all our top match-winners to be firing from the start next season.

So you wouldn't sacrifice some of the possesion against say Man Utd for someone who converted possession into chances? I'm very glad you are not in charge of our club.

I miss the little lad he's one or two bits of genius excellence during the match more then makes up for his constent giving away of the ball

...and then when this costly new player you can somehow guarantee does all that gets injured you'll have nobody of a creative ilk to put in the team in his stead.

I genuinely think the loosing the ball thing is exagerated and Garcia gets his share of goals. He is the only player (baring Fowler who will almost certainly go in the summer) who follows up long shots.

This sort of attitude is the one that has seen Britain produce so few flair players in the last 20 years.

All transfers are risky, that`s the game LFC. are in.

Britain has produced non flair players because flair players don`t survive in the PL with so little time or space compared to flair players in the Italian or Spanish leagues.

What you talking about Willis? If someone gets injured you need to replace them with someone else. My point is even if this miracle new signing you've got planned works then it would still make no sense to sell Garcia. If we do get players that we play ahead of him then he will at the very least provide cover for a number of positions and mean we are not short on creativity as we have so sorely been at times.

I disagree, it is not like you'll get acres of space in front of a defensive line in Spanish or Italian football at the top level. It is to do with our coaching and the way people are taught to play in this country.

With flair players, you are also going to give up a certain amount of possesion because it is not always going to work, but Garcia creates so much and gets his fair share of goals, we could not replace him with out spending a large amount of money and the likelyhood is Garcia will be a better and more hard working player than who could replace him with.
